Sensitive locations clarification

I have a CCW licensed years ago before this new NY took effect. Given the current rules/laws, am I allowed to legally carry in the following locations?

supermarkets
Deli’s
Inside a gas station convenience store
Parks

I remember a few months ago that a store had to put a picture on the store front if they allowed/didn’t allowed carrying a firearm inside. I no longer see that under the sensitive locations.

Legally, all private businesses have been defaulted by the state to being illegal to CCW, UNLESS there is a specific policy in place e and signage that says CCW is welcome.

As I understand it, locations have to explicitly authorize CCW by posting it. Now if a business allows firearms and that business is in a shopping center that would require the land owner of the shopping center to also explicitly allow it. Any property you cross, enter or pass through that does not explicitly allow CCW, you can be charged with a felony.

Basically you can carry on your property, on your person while going to and from the range, on public streets and public sidewalks......except NYC, unless you're a resident. Everywhere else is a felony and if caught, you won't have to worry about 2A issues anymore after that.

So basically going to and from the range without any stops on private property that doesn't explicitly allow CCW and that you're within the law.

That was once known as a restricted permit of sorts. Target and Hunting comes to mind. Depends on the county. They made it up. These violations (very rare) would result in maybe a brief suspension by a local judge and some legal fees. But that was it. No gun charges. Now its a felony and loss of a right.

Everyone in NY has a restricted permit. Last September's law is designed to disarm you through ignorance or political push back against the law.

1- essentially EVERY public place is illegal unless they pro actively take action to "opt in" by posting a guns welcome here type of sign. Usually looks like a Nintendo phaser with a green circle around it or something.

2- concealed is concealed bif you really NEED it, it will make for an interesting decision for the DA whether to try the case or not.

No there is not an official sign. But I'm just referencing some of them that I have seen so far.

how about this, Walmart, has signs saying "please refrain from open carry". Does that mean that they imply conceal carry is fine?

That's the whole point is it's stupid. I honestly don't know how much a DA wants to really push the issue if that is the only "law" you "may or may not" be breaking especially of you have a NY pistol license and are carrying your registered pistol. Does a DA really want to open that can of worms or is this just another attempt to discourage law abiding citizens from carrying and use it as an additional pile on charge when criminals do dumb shit.

We got here because the constitution means nothing and politicians want power and control. That’s all that matters to them anymore and most people don’t care about guns or to fight for what they should. They now want to keep people poor, drunk, high, or in debt so they can be controlled.

Also to note when I offer advice on posts like this I tell people what the law is because that’s what they are asking for. It certainly doesn’t mean o support the law or rule one bit. I run into this on another site regularly.

Your 1st paragraph dead on, especially the last sentence. I believe and have mentioned before that getting and keeping people dependent, poor, drugged up and stupid, is a plus for our "dear leaders". Dependent mind numbed sheep are easy to control. I give government credit, they're doing a great job at it.

Tell me if I am wrong but does not NY code say a firearm is an illegal handgun or pistol? Then the permits makes your gun legal and not called a firearm anymore.

Then this means a sign that says "No Firearms", only means the crooks and not my CCW?

I know they don't need any sign now but I seen yesterday, right after I encountered a strange person hanging out in a secluded area, a sign that no firearms allowed and it's probably been there 30 years or more.

The sensitive area part of the CCIA is the worst infringement way past all of the safe act.

There is a federal district case in MD where they struck some of this down but my standard is concealed is concealed like your underwear (unmentionables) and no ones business. I'm also against all dog fence restrictions of here and there and maintain, gun free zones, if you want one, get armed security and someone to operate metal detectors.

Well, then you've already disarmed yourself by somehow thinking you'll get a valid answer to an abstract phrased section of law on the internet.

Secondly, doing so with purpose, ie, coming here to distinctly ask a specific question lends to an intent! Whether or not that intent contains malfeasance, who knows. But I'm a cynic and untrusting individual, so I don't trust newbies who show up asking specific questions who haven't even given the courtesy of introducing themselves properly.

Third and lastly, as I've said above, you are already in trouble because you went through the trouble to arm yourself but don't KNOW the ins & outs before doing so. Basically backwards... Are you familiar with Art. 35 of the NYS Penal code? Art. 400 and others? Or are you going to ask on the internet about them too? Lol

NYS obfuscates it's law purposely, get over it. I'll end with a question, asking WHY you got a CCW to begin with?
