My opinion of a failure is having someone climbing a roof with a firearm, within such a close range, and not being neutralized sooner. There should have been more countersniper teams on rooftops to view all locations that had Vantage points to see the stage where Trump was speaking.Agreed. I think. I looked high and low for their procedures and the rights of the Secret Service. I am unable to find out exactly what they are allowed to do.
I'll give an example to show my concern, many have seen the video of the red haired guy that lives across the street from the venue, the one that says he told Police about the guy on the roof. Is the SS allowed to enter that house and do a search of the property? If so, how far out are they able to go? Can they force people out of their homes and off their property for an event like this?
If the red haired guy and his friends wanted to hang out on his roof to watch, would they be "allowed"? If they are gun owners, would they be disarmed?
I am not saying the SS did their jobs well, but what exactly were the failures?
The fact that a sniper was allowed on a roof within such close range is ridiculous to me. If a sniper took a shot from a thousand yards away hidden in the woods wearing a ghillie suit I couldn't say that was a failure of the Secret Service because that would be difficult to account for, but on a roof within 150 yards is inexcusable.
