That doesn't bother me. Ten years ago I bought a foreign made Winchester Model 70 and a Remington model 7 made here in NY. The Chester has twice the quality in fit and finish in both wood and metal.
"Browning" doesn't make it's own guns per se, that why if you read closely the labels on their guns you find they're all made all over.

My example 8 years ago. Had a pre 64 featherweight. Pushfeed issue aside, the foreign made Winchester rivaled the shit out of it.

I bought the 1301 Comp about 3 years ago. I haven't put a single round threw it yet. I have no idea what is legal on auto shotguns anymore, but I do like that new stock option.

There is no real innovation in firearms, hasn't been for decades. Everything is the same as the last thing, just newer designs of the same thing.

My brother in law has a wood frame, pump action 3006. The video shows a nice gun, but not new.
I think back to many years ago, innovation in firearms was real, not so much today.

Its really too bad Remington got so messed up. I don't even know how they are still in business. I wish someone bought them and made them great again (like Ruger did with Marlin). I would love to see a re-release of the 7600. Unfortunately they sold off all their tooling and would never be able to produce them like they used to (like the junk 700s and 870s produced today).

Now you're being fussy. Your Tennessee water must be poisoned. That Chester is a completely ground up new build. The only thing I see from an old Winchester is the smooth lines of the receiver. Watch the video if you didn't. I'm pissed they won't bring it the the USA!
Do not get me wrong, it is in fact a beautiful gun. Love the wood. But, it is not innovation the way I see things. It is a serious upgrade of something that is already on the market.
I look back at history and I see a lot of great innovation in this industry, these days, all I see are improvements to current products. Nothing really hot and new.
One example, for decades, the smooth barrel was the only kind of barrel, through innovation, someone decided, through innovation that this was not the best option for a rifle.
People like Eli Whitney came up with a brilliant idea of interchangeable gun parts.
In 1836, Samuel Colt received a U.S. patent for a handheld pistol that featured a multi-firing system based on a rotating barrel with multiple chambers that could fire bullets through a lock and spring design. This was serious innovation.
Soon, a swing out revolver for easier reloads.
Shotguns, one day, a guy said... "Holy shit, we should add a second barrel to a shotgun" (He really did not say that.) This is innovation.
The Spencer Repeating Rifle Company patented a design at the start of the Civil War that was capable of repeated firing following a single ammunition load. More winning, more innovation.
Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1883 created a version of the rifle that incorporated a pump action. More innovation.
Soon, the full auto gun was created.
This is real innovation: Hirem Maxim, an American-born British inventor, would take the machine gun to the next level with his Maxim gun. The weapon harnessed the recoil energy from each bullet fired to eject a used cartridge and pull in the next one.
1918 of the lightweight Thompson submachine gun, also known as the Tommy gun, would offer a hand-held version of the deadly machine gun as one of the first portable and fully automatic firearms.
Mikhail Kalashnikov for the Soviet military in 1947. The short-barreled weapon with steep front-sight posts and curved magazines offered the rapid-fire of machine guns with lighter-weight portability.
When I hear about innovation, this is what I am talking about.
