At this same point in the Biden administration (may-june of 2022) gas was about $5.
Nobody is arguing that the Iran situation isn't causing a temporary increase. Obviously it is.
But only the intellectually dishonest will pretend that it isn't a temporary situation intended to lead to better long term results.
Imagine what gas prices will look like without Iran and their proxies causing problems in the middle east every few years.

If Trump is "in way over his head" (in your opinion) based on gas prices being higher in his second year, what was your opinion of Biden in June of 2022, when gas prices were even higher than we are seeing now?

Different situations, 2022 was mainly diven by the Russia-Ukraine conflict (which largely stemmed from Obama's inaction in 2014) paired with surging post-covid demand restoration, but Biden was a god damn moron too. He had (and has) a diminished mental capacity.
The biggest difference is Trump directly caused it, Biden inherited the conditions primarily from Obama and less so from Trumps 2016 term.
End of the day, just like a manager at work, the problems are yours to deal with, it doesn't matter if it was caused by a predecessor or not.

I'd mostly trace it back to Obama in 2014 and how he handle Crimea. He emboldened and positioned Putin to do more of his antics. If he was swatted down then, Ukraine wouldn't have happened.
