I thought all bolt actions were good to go? I saw a gun shop on long island that sells flamethrowers. It's not a rifle/shotgun, its not a pistol, is there a flamethrower license I need to acquire or this that good to go?

I thought the M4 version with the pistol grip was ok since pistol grip isn't listed for semiauto shotguns and it doesn't have a detachable magazine. It's just movable stocks, 2nd vertical grip, and barrel attachments. I know the pistol grip M4 is NYS legal.
My residence is only temporary but that doesn't mean I can't have protection during my stay.
I'd like to also get a Benelli M4 with stock 5rd tube and fixed non-moving stock ofcourse. That seems to be ok....right....
