Look at limbsaver grind to fit recoil pads. Buy slightly oversized and grind (sand) to fit profile. I have done this on several 50 cal muzzle loaders that were punishing and it really helped put some weight on the front of the rifle to balance it, will also tame recoil. My 308 runs 19 lbs...
