We don`t know what they`ve been cooking underground. All of us are pretty much speculating at this point, but my opinion is, don`t fukk around and find out it was a mistake, which is exactly what our war machine politicians do every fukking day, make mistakes, and then lie to the people about it.

You can't have it both ways. If they are close to building a nuclear bomb, PLUS using nuclear energy for other peaceful uses, there is more there than what was leaked at Chernobyl from a single reactor. Your war mongering spin doesn't follow logic.

Two different things:

Scattering 90 pounds of raw U-235 with a conventional explosive is not the same thing as a nuclear chain reaction from imploding the same amount of fissile material.

That said, I'm no nuclear physicist.

I'd just prefer not to be within range of Iranian medium range nuclear-capable missiles launched from a simple freighter in the Atlantic.

We now know that their ballistic missiles are quite effective. So, when they threaten "Death to America," I believe them.

Hell no.

Let the middle east sort out their own problems.

This goes back to the soviets and Afghanistan. If we would have stayed out then as well, 9/11 wouldn't have happened. Nothing good comes from injecting the USA into the middle east.

I find it interesting that you view the events of 45 years ago as isolated events when the Iranian campaign directly against US interests has continued unabated. The current Ayatollah has been in charge of Iran for 36 of those years. In case you need to recognize him, he's one of the guys saying "Death to America" at every turn.

Also I'm not sure what you referred to as a "ridiculous argument", but the Pentagon's own data directly blames Iran for 603 KIA in Iraq or approximately 17% of all combat deaths in Iraq. That's a Biden number by the way, the real number is likely higher.

And also, it's not about weapons sales. It's organizing, training, financing and equipping the proxy force to directly combat Americans.

One can either be proactive in life or reactive. Do I think in time Iran will follow through on their Death to America montra? I do believe they will give it a college try. Take care of the nukes and let the Iranians take care of regime change.

I still think 9-11 was an inside job to rally the American people into going BACK to Iraq and on to Afghanistan, and had we really been successful there, by now we'd be in/through Iran.
What the Western world doesn't understand is the brutality required to keep and maintain those Countries...it's what they understand and how they do things.
As for extended operations there: I spent a good fifteen years with additional duties involving Deploying/Redeploying Troops, Equipment, and Vehicles to the Sand Box, and frankly unless someone actually comes over here and fucks with us, we should never send another Soldier to fix another Countries failures. (See Thomas Jefferson's admonishments to avoid Foreign entanglements)

Now there you have a legitimate point .Although most of it goes to combat Isreal and Some goes to combat American forces in the region. thier success against Americans is minimal at best . The main threat is aimed at Isreal , thats where they are putting thier time and effort

The nuclear facilities are hardened structures deep underground.

The contamination will stay right there.
