We had a lot of Rabbits in our neighborhood; wasn't unusual to turn onto the Street and see 2-3-4 in someone's yard including mine...then suddenly they were all gone...I know there's one or two still around as I see their tracks going around the House and under the Deck.
I suspect disease tore through and culled them...There are Foxes nearby, and Song dogs (we never see them, only hear them in the distance) no carcasses or blood sign, so disease is likely the culprit.

Saw this the other day: Two old men at the fence, one asks "What are you going to grow this year?"
"Older and Crankier"
thought that was pretty funny, but drugs will do that.

I had never done the burnt wood thing before. All three boxes took 20 minutes. I love the look, especially from the road.

A great way to keep this alive is yeast. Instant yeast mixed with a bit of sugar. Let that sit for a couple of hours and water normally.

Very sorry to hear of the misses' passing....

I shoot about 1/2 dozen per week. They are like an inner city infestation....

I’ve never done it but I love the char method especially for in the ground beds. Char up the inside, outside, and burn all the plants around the bed. Easy, no chemicals, and cheap.

If anyone uses 5 gallon buckets for growing plants I just found out Fire House Subs sells their pickle buckets with lid for $4. All monies go to their local firehouse first responders.

I secured the rights to the name "firehouse subs" in Colorado in the early 2000's, after they said that state wasn't in their immediate expansion plans. Someone informed me a few years later that a store was finally opening there. I checked, and my name reservation with the SOS had recently expired.

Bummer, big time!

I use them but I am transitioning everything to grow bags. I like the grow bags much more. They naturally air prune the roots and I can tell you that helps with production up top a good bit. 5-gallon buckets are still a great move and this is a good price.

My thyme seeds are popping today, earlier than I expected but better than last year so I’m happy. Also my citrus tree is making a slow but sure turn around. The leaves are greening back up. I’m assuming it was pH related, but I also added some fertilizer so it could be that as well. I’m adding an acid based fertilizer with iron in it so those should both help. Maybe by spring when I plan to put it outside it will be back to normal and start growing. I want some blooms this year. I hear they smell heavenly.

Buckets are great for doing small batches of different types of carrots and small type potatoes. You can also make a nice little herb patch by clumping a few buckets together if you don’t have the raised box space.

I agree. This is a good advice. I try to avoid doing larger rooted things like peppers and tomatoes because the roots just keep growing. I like buckets for potatoes, beets, radishes, lettuce, and herbs. I don’t feel they have enough space for carrots but that’s just me. I’m not the best carrot grower because I’m terrible at thinning them. I just let them grow all season and pick what ones are ready after I do a bit of thinning. I saw once they had seed tape and I keep wanting to try it but it’s very expensive.

Use toilet paper, make your own "seed tape".

Yes, I just sprinkle sand in with them and let them grow, separates better, get a few more big ones but they all end up in the stock pot, dog treats, etc; very little work.

That’s awesome. I love that. Make sure you protect them when you put them outside. Rabbits and deer love young trees.

It must have been oh and low iron uptake on my tangerine tree because now I finally have some little bit of new growth. I also reduced the light because I move it over for my seeds but I don’t think that’s it.
