Good reminder then, wounded deer head to water good place to start looking.Walk a creek after first day you will usually find a dead buck or two,and remember when you cant find them till next day listen for the crows.
Didnt say it wasnt enough, but saying the 30/06 is a better choice for a deer cartridge.Shooting doe with these smaller cartridges might get you meat on the ground, but when I get a chance at a monster 250+ pounds of pure muscle I wont be under gunned. If you want to slow it down (wound it) from...
If you hit a big buck with those little rounds make sure your tracking skills are as good as an Indian,or get that dog tracking service in your memory banks.
I would say minimum 150 grain bullets, wounded more than a couple and seen plenty more get away with less grain.I used to use a 270 with 140 grain bullets for less kick, but seen the light and wont use anything smaller than 30/06 150's now.
Buck Rambo survival knife, looks like new never sharpened. No case but you can buy one on EBAY,they are pricey though. These go for a pretty penny on Ebay but I dont want to screw around with Paypal,$125 shipped to your door VIA UPS.I accept money order or just cash if you feel its safe to send it...
I use the SVAT wireless cameras,no wiring just need a power source/plugin for the cameras and they transmit up to 100' to your cameras. Now they dont make them anymore,so I tried the LOREX ones and there junk.Any recommendations on these kind of cameras, love wireless so I dont have to run wires...
News says hunters are happy, but I checked the PA hunter forum to see the reaction and they are divided just like antler restrictions.

Might be kind of like the antler restrictions being pushed here in NY now.
Deer Hunters Relieved Over Semi-Automatic Weapons Law Change
TROUDSBURG -- Rifle deer hunting season ended in December, but talks about the sport are being brought back up.
On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Game...
You will get the fluke buck like that, but if those young/inferior bucks are breeding the does thats what you will get.More larger/dominant bucks around will keep them from breeding the does and keeping the genetics purer.Ever see some of those freak monsters they are breeding now on fenced...
Weekend drop to $1100 for everything.Remember I have $600 invested in the all new accessories that comes with this rifle. Not a scratch on this gun, always been case stored. The scope was from midway USA,ammo from PSA.
Oh I know where the big bucks are and believe me if I took a stroll on that property I would be fined for trespassing. And the big bucks are there because yearlings are not getting shot.
I see no sense in shooting yearling bucks. All this law is doing IMO is trying to get a buck up to a 2 year old class deer, and give them more of a chance to reach three which will have wall mounting potential.Cant beat that way of thinking!
I have had it a few years and only put 3 tank-fulls through it since I had it.It was like new when I bought it locally, but there is no local paint ball fill-up stores in the area so it has very little use.I never got around to buying a foot pump or tank,so I went half hour away to get it filled...
If someone wants this I would go $350,that's half price of a new one at Pyramyd air.An air rifle might be a stretch to sell here but I am looking to sell hands on/no shipping. If your looking to get into this hobby this is a good way to do it,starting with a top tier model without having to...
Exactly what I was thinking, human eyes dont glow. There was another story a little while ago about a prison guard coyote hunting at night and shooting 2 of the farmers horses.Swept under the rug of course due to being one of the in crowd of NY.Think my outdoor night sports will be catfishing,alot...
I always wanted a custom one with the horn/bone engraved handles, they have got some real nice ones on Ebay but are pricey. This is the best one in my collection, its not the earliest Buckmasters made but was affordable.
Going to get my knife collection out of storage tomorrow and wondering if anyone here is a Buck fan.Thats basically the only brand that I seemed to care for when I started collecting.I shot for the complete 100 series (as seen in pic) and got them all except the axe.A couple of them were kind of...
That 35 whelen is an old sleeper round.I picked up an older model Remington 700 in that caliber with a couple boxes of shells but havent shot it yet.Looks like it would put a nice hole in a deer though.
Do all these HAM radios now have scan, when I was interested in them not all had that option.Which is a big deal if you want to catch up on all the chatter.
Thats exactly what I thought cutting it down, but then finding a pad that fit to look nice would require a gunsmith.Tried to get away with it quick and easy before Christmas for $100,but we all know how that goes.
I dont like the hassle of selling guns, especially now with the SAFE act and driving to do background check.Take it to a FFL and get screwed on price but worth not going through the hoops of advertising then selling legally to a private owner.
This is the actual listing for the stock I ordered, does the GY mean something that I cant figure out?Its an older model 110 in 243 caliber.
Original Savage 10 GY / 110 GY RH, S/A Hardwood Youth Stock w/ Rifle Pad
short action
checkered
walnut stain
12.5" LOP

I just ordered a youth stock for a 110 savage to switch out the adult stock.I ordered from Numrich and it said it would fit but it doesnt. The screw holes dont even line up.is there a different.Did they screw up and give me the wrong one?
Still the only buck I see,at least hes sticking around but not even another spike.Went spotlighting tonight also and seen a few doe but deer population real low.All the hunters will be after this guy I guess.
Cold weather had them moving yesterday. The biggest I seen so far,but I just started camming.Hoping to find one at least a year older than this one to get my hopes up.
Not me,I dont hunt predators.Actually only been hunting first and second day of the season past few years, hard to stay out if you dont see deer.I used to pass multiple small bucks on the rifle opener, now im lucky to see a few doe.Lots of people in this area complaining about it,and like I said...
Dont know about your area but that drought got farmers cutting there corn early (now). The deer been out in them heavy and early before dark with this weather,I just dont like hunting food plots. Its not like TV hunting where the big bucks will come out and say shoot me,there usually totally...
My deer population looks way down again this year.Dont know where they all went and dont think it was hunting pressure. There are alot of coyotes though, thinking they had a big impact on guttin the heard. This will be the third or fourth season that looks like I will be deer less again,I dont...
