It works both ways. If someone ended up in NYS court over an epoxied fixed mag or a fixed mag that has not been epoxied like a prince 50 and the jury sided with the defendant instead of the State it would set a precedent case law that NYS does not want. Then there would be no more ambiguity. If...
Freddy said it well and so did Bullet Guy. No one knows 100% because the laws are vague. General consensus is if you use something like a Prince 50 with epoxy then you should be good but we are not lawyers and there hasn't been any case law as of yet.
You are wrong. Simple as that. Nowhere in the law does it say permanent and in clear plain English the word fixed does not mean permanent. You can argue your invalid points until you are blue in the face. You are clearly wrong. Plain English. YOU ARE WRONG. LMAO. IN CASE YOU DONT KNOW WHAT THAT...
The law ONLY states PERMANENT in one category MAGAZINES
3. Permanently modifying it to reduce its capacity to 10 rounds or less.
SO IN PLAIN ENGLISH IT DOESN'T APPLY TO ANYTHING ELSE
A semiautomatic rifle that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least one of the following military characteristics:
a. Folding or Telescoping Stock
b. Protruding Pistol Grip
c. Thumbhole Stock
d. Second Handgrip or Protruding Grip that can be held by non-shooting hand e...
Also does anyone know if SIDE folding stocks were ever illegal in this state. The SCAR has a side folding stock and collapsible. If you registered that could the stock then be changed to the OEM side folder/collapsible stock? I ask this in specific as I heard that side folders were never legal...
On a side note for more debate
Let's say you purchased an AR15 prior to the safe act and post ban which allowed a muzzle brake and a pinned collapsible stock.
Let's say you registered that AR15 with the state as it was in a legal configuration when you purchased it.
Can you unpin the stock as...

Ok Will...Here is an EASY one for you to understand. The SAFE act says you also can't have a collapsible stock. So when you purchase an AR15 with a collapsible stock they pin the stock for you (either LGS, gunsmith or manufacturer) . With your logic the law still states that the stock is still...
And actually you are wrong again. This is very comical. You clearly don't know what you are doing or saying. If you remove the mag button and put a new button on you still can't attach a magazine. It won't insert. I also have the FC hook as well. So if you want to remove everything you still...
Here is where you just destroyed any and all of your argument. There is no ability to accept a detachable magazine , none unless you permanently ALTER the weapon. SO the weapon as it is right now can not accept a detachable magazine. Pretty funny how now you are interpreting the law Anyways...
Actually you are quite wrong again. If you attempt to remove my magazine you will alter or destroy the parts in attempting to remove them so for that reason my lower cannot accept a detachable magazine. For something not to be detachable then it has to be attachable. Without the mag button and...
Ok I see where you are going. Let me clarify. My issuing judge interpreted the law. He interpreted a fixed mag no longer is an assault weapon. He then wanted a second opinion to make sure the fixed mag was indeed fixed. So instead of him examining it he had a credible firearms expert examine...
At this point as the law is written it states that a fixed mag doesn't result in an assault weapon. There is no clarification after that. You can argue all you want but that's what it is. If I get into trouble with it I will have my attorney subpoena the ATF agent and the Judge. I am not worried...
Actually not true. It turns out there are several County Permit issuing Judges (outside my county) that allow this configuration so that was my argument that if the other Judges allow it why wouldn't mine. He wanted his back covered and that is what he did
It was a pretty simple request. The ATF officer clearly interpreted the fixed mag application. The rest didn't matter. The Judge was satisfied with his answer and so was I. Once the Mag is fixed it is no longer an assault weapon and all the other stipulations no longer apply.
The Judge in Rensselaer County called the LEO Agent from the ATF (Not the examiners) to come and inspect my AR15 Pistol prior to me putting it on my permit.
I just got my Fixed magazine AR15 pistol added to my pistol permit. The LEO Agent from the ATF inspected my lower and declared it perfectly legal in regards to the SAFE act. I had the FC Hook on one side. The Prince 50 on the other side with epoxy in both the allen wrench hole and in the larger...
Apparently we are talking two different firearms. You are talking a preban Chinese sks type 56 and I am talking a preban Chinese type 56s Ak 47. Those are worth over 1500
Here is a reply on another forum about a pre ban not all that great Norinco AK47....end of the story in crappy condition his is worth about $1,600

Go on the sturmgeweher web site and check out prices. If you have an older polytech or norinco AK 47 they go for stupid money now. Who imported it? There will be importation marks on the receiver
It was very painless. The ATF guy was great. He looked at the lower and I showed him I had the FC hook, Prince 50 and JB weld. He agreed that it was a fixed mag and after reviewing the safe act he said it was not an assault weapon and thus the regulations governing an assault weapon did not...
I have purchased from Buds several times. It's not Buds fault that Cuomo and the safe act is unconstitutional. I don't blame them. I blame Cuomo and company. If you don't like their policies buy from someone else. Internet ammo sales are not enforceable at this time but I can barely get anyone...
The county permit guy called the gun shop. I didn't discuss with the guy anything other than what the receipt said. Which was manufacturer Stag Model Pistol, semi auto fixed mag, 7.5" barrel and .223/5.56 That info is required. There was no mention of AR15 ever. The judge brought the paper...
I did Stag as the maker, Pistol as the model and .223/5.56 as the caliber. Receipt said fixed mag and 7.5" barrel. Judge wasn't interested in allowing me to have it on my permit so far
So no issue getting a judge to sign off? Apparently my judge who has been great with everything else said he doesnt want to get involved with that. I just want to know how many people have them in case I do get to talk with him
I just got off the phone with Charlie and he says he doesn't think my Judge would sign an amendment for AR15 fixed mag pistol.
My Judge and Charlie have been excellent to me so if he won't then he won't. Doesn't hurt to ask!
Looking into a fixed mag AR-15 pistol. I heard from the LGS that the judges in Rensselaer County won't sign the amendments. Any truth to that? If so how did you get them to sign it?
I have been to machine gun shoots before many times. Only the idiots with too much money ran their guns to that point of destruction. Many guys let theirs cool down and rest to avoid damage. There is no issue replacing your oem guide rod to SS but it is not necessary. You can destroy...
There isn't anything wrong with you switching to a SS guide rod. Matter of fact it is "simpler" than the oem one. Just make sure it functions well with your carry ammo. Will it reduce felt recoil? Doubtful It would take some porting to reduce felt recoil...and that porting would be a decent...
We ran a lot of rounds (1500-3000 at an exercise) and as you know the Glock 18 has a blindingly fast cyclic rate around 1200-1300 rounds per minute. The pistol performed flawlessly with the 33 round magazines. We used a shoulder stock to control it as muzzle rise is problematic. I will tell...
Tungsten ones are not necessary. I don't recommend them. No need for SS (stainless steel) guide rods UNLESS there is a known issue with the OEM ones or you want to change spring weights to work with your loads. For instance I have a SS guide rod for my Glock 34 and depending which barrel and...
