Just showed up Trulock turkey choke tube for my Benelli 20 gauge. Got the .045" constriction versus the .055", as I want to use it with both #4 and #6 shot, and as a general rule #4 and larger shot doesn't pattern as well as #5 & #6 in tighter chokes.

Actually after I posted it, it's a bit much because he wouldn't need the CDS-ZL, but the scope size and magnification range is relevant. Leupold offers similar scopes in the more budget friendly VX-Freedom line, but still offers quality.

I do understand your point. I have a Leupold VX-R 4-12×50 (has adjustable brightness red dot in center of crosshairs) currently on my .308, and I love it. That red dot never gets lost in the shadows, as crosshairs sometimes can.

PS...1x is a VERY wide field of view, I have made accurate running shots on deer with it, that saved my bacon.

Def worthy of consideration, $319.99 is reasonable.

I already have the scope, and rings. Perhaps I could consider the red dot option later, a light and suppressor would be a higher priority, since I already have SOMETHING for sighting equipment, that is in character for the rifle and intended use.

So now, I'm into it for the rifle, ordered with or without a decent trigger, so if without... The cost of a better trigger and... A light and... I'd really like a suppressor. The sighting equipment I plan to use is a Leupold VX-2 1-4×20. I feel it's an appropriate scope, lightweight...
