Seward sponsored this bill several years ago as well. Kathy Marchione was a co-sponsor. She was my Rep. I was in contact with and communicated with her office in regards to the Administrative restrictions and the varying degree of Lic. issuing policies between counties. What they call the...
Proper or just cause are the words that have allowed licensing agents to get away with placing administrative restrictions upon licenses. As some on this forum have said in the past ( seemingly in support of administrative restrictions ) "The courts have upheld this practice". Yes, there is no...
I understand where master swimmer is coming from in regards to ALL of NYS being a microcosm of the country. It is a sensible way to look at the big picture.
I also know what I hear. Not just from my neighbors. About three weeks ago I completed a marathon cross country drive going to...
Was in the back yard a few days ago. Neighbors were talking over the fence from their yard. They have in the past been pro Trump, they are firearms owners and enthusiasts. Definitely have been anti liberals and anti progressive for as long as I have known them.
They are ALL IN for Cuomo and...
A leopard cannot change it's spots, but Cuomo has done just that temporarily. Just look at him in all the press conferences force fed to the world viewers.
To anyone who knows little about him they have seen a masterful presidential charade.
This whole Democratic nomination thing is going to...
Sums up my feelings quite well. In fact exactly!
I have not always held this opinion. Throughout my life I guess I niavely thought that any and all LEO were the good guys doing the correct thing. Must be something to say about getting wiser as one gets older.
Ask where you are shipping it to for a shipping label. You are simply carrying the frame to the USPS for them for shipping. Tell them you will pay the fee. Or, just ship USPS Priority mail and be done with it.
Towards the end of the article the potential problem is mentioned. The fleeing liberals bring their liberal mindset with them. Thus eventually establishing the pox in yet another State for them to destroy. I go back far enough to have seen this IMO happen in VT. Over time what was referred...
Nice to see you post CS.
I doubt that you will get a "normal" NYS CC Lic. in our gulag. Administrative restrictions are universally applied by a Lic. officer that uses his personal subjective and arbitrary feelings to do what he thinks are best for the residents of the County. Additionally...
Thanks,. I am trying to work out the logistics of getting to see these guns and take photos or get better information from the owner. I am not sure our paths will cross when he returns to NH for a brief period of time on the 15th.
Will keep you in mind.
Just curious, from the not very detailed...
I am quite impressed with the knowledge and information showing up here.
Hopefully when I get back to the Gulag I will be able to get a look at them and see what
Marks may be found on them.
Thanks, interesting reading about Manton. Your eyes are much better than mine. Greener who made the shotguns used by Wells Fargo as "coach Guns"
apparently was the son of another Greener who had worked under Manton before heading out on his own. Looks like the Manton Company is still in business.
Yeah, some repair on that stock! Was before the days of epoxy and super adhesives.
On that particular firearm my thoughts were that if the weapon is in any way unique someone else might be interested in some of the hardware
for a restoration of another like firearm.

I told him I thought that this one is an Arisaka. Probably a model 99. I suppose it could also be a Model 38.
He said there were two but one is missing!!
I asked about the bolts and he said he had two but has not found them! :banghead:
His Dad was a Marine and served in the...
SWMBO younger brother has reached out to me for help. He has some long guns that he needs to get rid of.
Very odd stuff that he has carte around from place to place. Apparently all were in the family and as the only male descendant he has them. He knows nothing about firearms and I am pretty...
I am just guessing but I think the place I mentioned is somewhere along the route that takes you through Bridgewater, Sangerfield, Congers Corners,
Madison and Bouckville.
Maybe someone will read this that lives in the area and can help with information about the place.
There is a large collection of these type tractors and implements that go with them somewhere in the Western part of the State.
They have all sorts of garden tractor, lawn mower etc, etc. Sort of a "bone yard" type place.
I have driven by it a couple of times and took note of it because I had...
Ah, but the courts have upheld the practice!! Therefore it is acceptable for one individual to make a subjective and arbitrary decision
in regards to your NYS concealed carry License. What in the world is wrong with you guys and gals? Isn't this practice rooted in common sense
and sound...
Thanks for the Ifo and the link.
I did not realize that a stray weed touching the fence could drain it. I do know someone on a farm that diverts some of their large
area horse fencing to a small garden fence. They hang Christmas tree tinsel over the bottom wire to zap woodchucks trying to...
BTTT
Somebody come up with a plan! Any combination of parts with the rifle, Stock rifle without 922r parts, Individual parts without the rifle.
Mix and match and add a price. I might even deliver depending on where I have to go.
Can't go as far as I was originally willing though as I sold...
Wish I had a place to do this. I worry about the bee population decreasing. They are so important to our agriculture.
How about some details on the electric fence set up? Will that small solar panel keep the battery charged?
What is the Battery, solar controller? and fence unit?
Thanks
My question would be , what was he doing taking care of personal business while
on the tax payers time clock? Plus there is the use of an official vehicle and the expense of
driving it to Kay Jewelers to take care of his personal business to consider.
I don't buy the lunch break story. Think...
Well, I heard or read that the pistols were something to stay away from but the revolvers were OK.
I got the itch for a 9mm revolver. I started checking into revolvers in 9mm that are in current production. Or at least recent production.
I chose the Taurus 905 stainless. Reasons are a...
I read that the owner of the land donated it or at the least approved the construction.
I would think that there are plenty of land owners on the border who would do the same.
Was at my FFL's today doing the pistol paperwork. I asked him about selling a C&R eligible long gun Face to Face with a C&R FFL holder.
He said C&R FFL had to record the sale just as he does in their federal book and as long as I am supplied a bill of sale with the proper information there...
I do not have a clue what the law in NYS says about selling to a C&R FFL holder. I do know that the rifle is C&R eligible in stock form.
The rifle at present has a Murry's USA made trigger and hammer installed in the FCG. Would this effect the C&R status? I don't have a clue!
If someone can...
OK FOLKS, Just found a Pistol I would like to buy. Cost is right at $500.00 plus shipping.
I will sell everything that I have listed in this for sale Ad for $499.00 That is the rifle, and all 922r parts, the original parts, and the Kivari trigger work.
Everything included for $499.00
I will...
I think this arrangement is a good thing and certainly support the effort.
At the same time I cannot help but recognize just how screwy the pistol licensing procedures are in NYS.
Bradford and Tioga county residents from PA can obtain a NYS pistol License through this arrangement and carry their...
I would gladly sell it to you if I had it.
Original sale of the rifle was with a 30 round detachable Magazine. The detachable magazine was shipped to someone outside of NYS where it is legal and still resides there. I had to then locate an original fixed magazine for rifle.
The stock fixed...
OK, gonna try this again with a twist.
I will sell this Chinese factory 26 manufactured in 1967 in any configuration a new owner might want.
It can go as a completely stock SKS ( with the exception of the Kivari trigger work which cannot be reversed ). I will keep all the 922r compliant parts...
I see the maps provided break the counties into three categories. I was more interested in ones that routinely do not issue administrative restrictions and ones that routinely do issue administrative restrictions. Thus, two categories.
Taking the second amendment into account, IMO those...
Yeah, it goes without saying that you folks get bent over on a routine basis. There are some counties north of you though that will only issue pistol licenses with administrative restrictions. In fact, more than just a few I believe.
Anyone know if there is a database somewhere or list of the Counties in NYS that routinely issue Pistol Licenses with Administrative restrictions? Or conversely a list of those that do not?
Few years ago when I purchased my Para SKS I needed a stock fixed Magazine to replace the detachable that was on the rifle.
I found one on the Survivors SKS forum. In fact I specifically wanted one without numbers and found one rather easily.
Check out their "for sale" section.
Wasn't the ruling on this case due in March? Anything happen? I figured the court would play dodge ball and use the prosecutorial jurisdiction
issue to decide the case in Wassell's favor.
