I think if I had 12,500 rounds, and lived somewhere that 30 rounders and drums were readily available, I'd go through it in a summer plus 1-2 months. Range fees are neglible. Ammo isn't cheap though. Edit: missed the follow up of it being in regards to shtf. Agreed.

I had an aero m4 lower that I built up but ended up selling. You're supposed to clip a few coils off that spring to get it to fit. It's damn near impossible to otherwise, plus you'd never be able to get the rear takedown out.
