Ships are certainly not exclusively named after States, and they never have been. In fact, throughout US history, far more have been named after a person than have been named after a State. The tradition they're breaking is naming them after a SITTING president.

I still say that the future of warfare is drone and cyber. Drone warfare is far better served by smaller, fast ships. Multiple decentralized command centers make taking them out much more difficult than a giant lumbering platform with several types of armaments onboard. One or two good hits...

Either of the Gold Dots would do very well. So too would the Nosler offerings. I think you're overthinking this a bit. You don't need that much weight for a clean kill on a deer at a hundred yards. 60 ~ 70gr is plenty. That 64 gr Nosler solid base is an excellent bullet. I've loaded that...
