I have been into Bowman's a few times, I can tell everyone here that he has always had cameras in his shop. Heck when the 1st break in accrued they used camera footage of the thieves on the news from his cameras, the thieves also broke into 3 or 4 other FFL's in Jefferson and St.lawrence...
My grandfather created a jig to hold a knife at certain angles while using a stone, I can imagine that there are some companies out that have something similar now. Just a thought.
I have the Work Sharp knife sharpener and like GTN, I don't like it. It is very easy to ruin a knife, I made the mistake of sharpening a knife too close to the tip of the blade and the WS grabbed it and put so many grinding gouges on it. I let my father borrow it once and he told me he thought...
Steve1989MRE(YouTuber) would be like, pshhhh what's that.
That code (2167) reads that it was produced in June 16 2022
The 2, is the year(2022) and then the 167 is 167 days into the year
It has an inspection date of 6/25 well rather 10/16/25
I also agree with this, it all depends on the person's shape, but there are also holsters out that sit low in the beltline that make printing almost non-existent.
I found the perfect shirt at Tractor Supply of all places. I went back to get more, and they were sold out. It's a simple button up. I know that doesn't help at all really but maybe gives ideas to look there??
I'd 2nd Duluth Trading clothing, they're pricey but WELL worth it.
Last year I wanted to get one of their 10mm's before I moved. But they wouldn't ship a 1911 to NY. I even called them and asked why. The lady's response " We are not able to send firearms to where they are not legal to own" I told her, but it's a 1911, with an 8 round mag, it is in fact legal...
A neighbor of my Grandparents was a leather worker, I wish I asked to apprentice under him but didn't. I remember many a weekends watching my Grandfather weave baskets and the neighbor making leather things. I am honored to have a pack basket my Grandfather made and it has leather straps made by...
2 brothers, looks like 1 killed the other( shot to the torso) and then shot himself
https://www.wwnytv.com/2024/12/04/police-id-men-shot-death-massena-home/
Massena is a weird town The only reason it's not a ghost town yet is because of the reservation. A friend of mine is an EMT there, and hates it, the town is overrun by drugs.
My advice, I am not a lawyer and never will claim to be.
Tell your friend to not cheap out, skip flying into/out of a state that hates firearms. Yea it's more expensive to fly elsewhere but it's not worth cheaping out and potentially getting hassled over or worse.... arrested over.
As others that have left NY have stated, what's stopping the OP from just taking them when the time is right?
Also I agree with Cavalry, if something happened to the friend, is there anything set in place from stopping friend's family from taking your firearms to an FFL and selling them, as...
A member of my family has a few shields and I handled one, I don't know why I am hoping the M&P 10mm is different because it probably is not at all different.
I think I am the odd one out, I have a newer ez9 and don't like it. I wish I had more hands on time with it before I bought it I would have found out that it doesn't really fit me. I absolutely love the idea of the reduced recoil, easy slide/mag but the firearm just feels weird in my hands.
No reason to be sorry
As I said, that is the way I read it, but then it states Capanna's criticism is grounded in legal concern under the SAFE act, so I don't know. Quote below is direct off the site, I didn't type each in capitalized letters

Last week, federally licensed firearms dealers...
I was talking to someone a while back that lives in the U.S. they literally thought NYC was the whole state. I told them, it's literally in the name, NY City, and NY state,
But yes, the city will never secede from the state.
More info about this is on WWNYTV, the property is known for "pit parties"
https://www.wwnytv.com/2024/10/29/pit-party-property-concerns-parents-fort-drum/
My 2 cents
Pay the 150 and talk to an actual person that knows the laws. Also, I believe that you can not conceal carry through out the state with just a premise/home permit, as that is only good on your premise( property) I could be wrong, Again, my 2 cents, pay the 150 and ask someone.
Exactly it's easier to just say, don't ship at all to such and such state than it is to go through a ton of laws and spend tons of money also doing so.
I found this out a while ago when I wanted a knife I saw a review on, perfectly legal to have in NY, nothing about it was against NY standards but Amazon wouldn't ship it. They might be going with the " It's easier to just not ship things there" mindset
For safety reasons I will always have my phone on me in the woods. I lost a family member from an accident that he had while he cut a tree down.
They do plan on going to electronic licenses next year, but will they fully stop the paper tags, I have no idea and we'll see when the time comes. But...
Yep I know. But that app I wouldn't say "is no good" but to each their own as the saying goes. And by next year they will most likely switch to digital tags so the app is probably a need be. Also backtags are not required anymore
A direct quote from the DEC website
"Q. What about backtags...
This is nothing new, a few other states have been doing this for a while now. The fish and wildlife app is seriously so easy to just show DEC your license # too( I've done it fishing)
When the local high school announced that they were going to allow students to be on a trap team here, the local sportsman's club that allows the team to use their trap range, had Otis Technologies come out, and Otis gave a crap load of things away that day. I was given a can of their cleaning...
I have read a few things and watched a couple of videos, multiple people are seeing these anywhere from 400 to 450 at FFL's. I wish the Glocks Ive seen at my local FFL were the normal sized frames and not the sf, I'd have one by now.
The scuba place closed down because no one went there, it was a "call for an appointment to come in" place, it closed way before covid. It was clearly his side gig and 99% of this town I am in is the worst, a lot of people want businesses to come in, and when they do, no one goes to support...
That's an idea. I know my local fire house fills extinguishers, they might have what is needed to fill their own tanks, hmm. I might have to inquire about it
