You guys are hypocrites. The transit is in dire need of upgrades, we already pay the STATE TAX, why shouldn't it be used to help the system.

Oh and a note on the deteriorating infrastructure:
The deterioration includes:
- Train: breakdowns, derailments (on the LIRR), stabbings, overcrowdedness, overheating, sick passengers, "traffic".
- Failures: signals (HUGE PROBLEM), ConEd power loss.
- Broken: escalators, elevators, turnstyles...
Several reasons I disagree with that statement.
1. The MTA serves Downstate NY and all of Long Island (as well as residents from Connecticut and NJ) for daily work commutes, so it doesn't affect just NYC residents and taxes.
2. Around 43% of people who live in NYS live in NYC, so it's only fair...
