Any good local armorers to thread barrel and install muzzle brake?

Hi all, i am in Westchester NY, and am looking for a skilled armorer to install a muzzle brake on my remington 700 Long Range. Does anyone here know someone who would be able to do this install? Basically doing the machining to thread the muzzle for the appropriate brake. I've looked at badger ordinance and they will do it, but it involves shipping the barrel out and i would rather stay local.

Don't know of any local places, but Remington now makes 700s that are factory threaded (the SPS line). Might be worth selling the 700 you have to replace with one of those.

I had the same problem. I couldn't find a local armorer that had the time to do the work. They were swamped and would tell me about a month.

I have used Murray's in Texas to thread an SKS barrel and to pin a muzzle cap on an AR. I mailed them in and got them back in two weeks both times. I couldn't be happier.

You could try JC Blauvelt in Milford, PA. I believe he used to be in NY but moved over the PA line soon after unSAFE. Had him install some night sights a few years back.
