As one of the last GEN X'er to actually be required a to have full year of American history in 11th grade along with the now Social Studies BS, we all read the Congressional and State arguments presented for each amendment. The 14th amendment was clear then as it is today. What we don't discuss today are those arguments before passage. They provide the context for the amendment itself as well as clarity.

I agree, there is no birthright citizenship. It's a compact between the citizens and the government.

This would also have implications for destroying dual citizenship, which would remove most of congress. I think the majority are traitors anyway.
