Personally, I am really looking forward to the day when our legislators at all levels are faced with a choice dealing with the age question: if they are adamant against people 18 years old being able to buy, own, and carry any and all firearms, and they then make laws mandating they be 21 (or older), then I want our side to take that shit to SCOTUS, and force the laws to respect rights uniformly.

No guns before 21? Then we need no voting; no entering contracts; no entering the military,- drafted or otherwise (without parental permission); and so on, and so on.

The only way this will get pushed is if a right-leaning State makes laws that ALL Rights are affected, and people are not considered adults until 21.
No right-leaning politician would do this, however, because they know they'd lose a ton of votes.

Just have one State, like Texas or Florida, state that under 21 can't vote and you'll see the left's heads explode (not literally. we can't get that lucky)

When some state tries to pass a law that no one under 21 be allowed to purchase a gun, tack on an amendment to require that ALL rights in the state require a person have reached the age of 21. Then, let the lawsuits commence.
