2.5 hours later the slide is fitted. The thing wouldn’t even think about mounting the frame when I started.thank god for Files and lapping compound.

I've not yet built one from the ground up but I am curious.

I assume you need to remove material equally from both right and left sides, that makes sense.

But how about from the slide and frame? I'd guess you take it from the frame, yes?

Or was it from the underside of the slide and not the rails?

You cut the frame to match the dimensions of slide.

Test fire was successful and it is now engraved to the ATF’s specifications for gun markings. Now it doesn’t have to live in the shadows without a name.
