The SKS was great and accurate. My only gripe was that the stripper clips available for them online were flimsy and rounds would fall off of them.

I bought a regular Chinese Paratrooper. Then bought the Shernic Gunworks kit online and put it together.

I had to replace a few parts though to keep it 922 legal. Replaced the piston, trigger, and something else. I can't remember now.

With that kit you can modify it to take mags also? I know we can't do that in this state I was just curious. I don't know very much about SKS's.

I've been keeping my eye on this but as you know, Keltec builds them but never produces them.

Yep. It'll take Tapco 10, 20, and 30 round magazines. All you have to do is remove the trigger, remove the fixed magazine, replace the trigger, and that's it.

The detachable magazine just attaches after that.

I actually sold mine to BabyKaboomer on the other site to pay for my 9mm AR. When my money gets back to being right, I may buy another unless Keltec actually makes their compliant Bullpups more readily available.

SKS is a great platform. Replaced by the AK. Rock solid design, reliable and battle proven. Everyone should have at least one in the collection as they're all going up in value.

I've always wanted a bullpup rifle. I also wanted something in 7.62x39.

As long as I can get an SKS at a reasonable price.....and if the SG Works bullpup stock doesn't require the magazine conversion (so that the rifle can be loaded with stripper clips for unSAFE Act compliance), I'm going to do this project.

Ugh...another caliber I'm going to have to reload. Oh well....

Finding an SKS at a bargain price is getting pretty difficult. $350 - $400 minimum plus the bullpup kit. SOG selling Chinese models around $350 and Classic selling yugos around $400. Very thin supply out there and prices on gunbroker no better.

Edit - Classic has Yugos for $425.

Dang...and I'm gonna need two. The wife shoots left-handed and the bullpup stock would be dangerous if used left-handed with a right side ejection port. So...she'll want a polymer stock sporterized version.

Sks ejects strait up and with force, i think bullpup kits have a deflector that knocks them to the side.
Ksg is a nice platform ,put a few rounds through a friends. just keep your hands where they should be .

Phazer, the SKS in the Bullpup Stock can take stripper clips with either the fixed magazine or the detachable magazine through the top.

However, you aren't a good enough citizen to own a detachable magazine version.
