I left for many things I hate about NY. This previous salary increase certainly wasn't a deciding factor on its own, but it moved the needle further into the red in my number one issue that absolutely fucking pisses me off to no end. TAXES!!!Like we need another reason to desert this fucking cesspool of entitlement and fraud. If you’re stuck here behind enemy lines like me, not sure how this doesn’t make your blood boil………
I have thought the same thing for a long time. The compensation package should be the mean or median income of their constituents. Probably the lower of the two. They make way more than their stated salary. They make money for serving on committees, per diem, office allowances, travel expenses.
These folks should make the average of what their constituents make. They want a raise get me one this year and then it will be reflected in their pay the following year.
You didn't even mention the kickbacks and the money they steal from their re-election campaign. They make way more than their stated salary. They make money for serving on committees, per diem, office allowances, travel expenses.

Maybe $50k total?$22,400 a year plus $240 daily per diem when in session here in SC.
I think (for the most part) TN lawmakers are doing a pretty good job. I really don't mind paying them because they make this a state I choose to live in.Tennessee....
As of late 2025, Tennessee state legislators receive a base annual salary of $33,060. In addition to this salary, members receive daily expenses (per diem) of $379.44 per day while in session, with reduced rates for those living closer to the Capitol.

Maybe, they are only in session 60-70 days, but I’m sure they also get paid for committee days and such.Maybe $50k total?
Having done the same for New York Legislature, one can easily understand why Weapons are prohibited...I have met a couple fellas from the capitol. They are good folk for the most part. I have sat in the audience of a couple sessions, they really do seem/appear to care.
You are getting soft in your old age I think.Honestly, I think most of them deserve 5 to 10...

I can tell you see through ny figures are never accurate. At least the people I know have said this.I want to know why a lawmaker should be making more than an average professional/doctorate for a part time job. Like a lot more.
A better question is why is their total salary not reported on 'see through ny' Are they not State employees?
