Secret Service paper on averting school violence

I found this to be an interesting read. For my own sanity, I needed to do some reading that wasn’t pushing an overt message from either side. TBH this last mass murder event has hit me hard and far more noticeably than previous ones. Could be the innocence/defenseless nature of the victims, my ties to Texas, the fact I’m getting older or a combination of all of these along with other personal reasons. Hopefully someone else finds this research paper interesting though.

Not only access but it is one of the findings. I’ve tried to copy and paste the conclusions in here but not having much luck on my phone. Here is a screen shot. Best I can do for now. Seems like they suggest a few things that I cannot disagree with. Not sure if some of this is similar to what @GOPerfect alluded to in one of his posts.

Who would have thought that fostering a good community with happy people will result in less violence? What sort of madness is this? Only a police state will suffice.

Haven't read this yet, but none of my firearms are secured, they lay out in the open. Also have 3 kids that are grown now. The kids knew that they are not to be touched without me around, and I also knew what my kids were up to.

During a time when the oldest was having some school problems I put them away for a bit just to be sure. It's all good parenting, and common sense.

While I don’t have young kids at home, what you described makes perfect sense and it is pretty much in line with some items in the paper. Be an observant parent and recognize if there is a change in your kids behavior and if so don’t ignore it. It seems pretty straightforward to me.

What I do is let my dogs just run wild.
Never service my equipment.
Until the adults in this country do the job they are responsible for nothing changes.
Look at the politicians most have been stealing, screwing, us for a good 40yrs.; yet every year it is about the same problems that will be fixed if you only vote me in.

I remember there was a summit and a paper published by said so called security experts to guide schools and education facilities, in conjunction with local health care and law enforcement... Lemme see if I can find it

i just seen a report that Israel spent 1.9bill to harden the schools there even to withstand bombings ..

so went look for that .. but found this from 2018 ..
