Telescoping or Folding stocks

What is the legal definition of a telescoping or folding stock? In other words, if you needed some sort of tool to activate the folding or telescoping capability (ei "bullet button"type set up) would that affect its legal status?

As far as I know, the o my legal definition I have seen is for a stock itself. Have you tried looking around?

Alright. As far as I have found, it only states " a folding or telescoping stock" I have not found anything more than that. But I think it's pretty black and white

As Gunsick already said, what you're putting it on is what matters.

On a bolt gun it's completely legal, on a semi, you end up in the 3-Bar Motel.

He's asking what IS a telescoping or folding stock. If you need a tool to use the telescoping or folding feature, is it still one? If no, it doesn't matter what you put it on.

Now *thats* the SAFE act case I want to take to SCOTUS. 'Cause you know every court through the 2nd Circuit would agree with the prosecutor.
