The proposed violence against women act is being used as a vehicle to push gun control and has gained bi-partisan support in part because of the bill's title.

There is also a push to charge for each NICS which essentially is a tax that will pay for new CDC anti gun initiatives, creates new traps for FFLs, and the bill also includes features that can criminalize a legal gun owner if a gun is stolen or lost (e.g. boating accident)

The only reason the NICS worked is that it was "free".
Once they add a fee, it is no different than a "poll tax".

If the courts won't throw the whole thing out on those grounds, then I guess it's off to the nearest parking lot for most of America.
