Folks while I wish that were true I believe the number is lower than the 60% mark. ... It only stands to reason that the driving force in gun purchases are current gun owners. Lots of libs own guns. Lots of Democrats own guns. They support gun control because they don’t believe you should own guns. Just like police chiefs and generals support gun control because they believe they are the only ones who should have guns.

I have heard similar sentiments from some police officers that I've spoken to. The LEOs in our area, that have kept working after the "good ones" have been purged be Leftist policies, all "know" that only "professionals" (like them) should have firearms.

Fact Check: I've attended many firearms training courses with rank-and-file LEOs. They need a lot more practice before I would deign to call them "professionals" with regards to firearms. That said, kudos to those LEOs who spend their own money and time to improve their skills.

Have to agree with this. All it takes is some anti 2A asshole in NY and other May Issue states to try and deny your right. My former Chief of Police objected to my getting a pistol permit, along with a "detective" in his Department. Why? Despite being your basically law abiding lifelong NY resident with no criminal record; a business owner, US Navy veteran and former Navy SWAT Team member, I had the nerve to question the fact that the County PP Office was NOT following the law (6 months to grant or deny apps), so, in their eyes I became some gun nut in a hurry to get a handgun and then go out and murder my enemies...Strangely enough, 10 years later, that has not happened.

That former Chief of Police has a huge head problem. When different groups and agencies were offering help to schools and other businesses in my town to harden against mass shootings, he actually objected to ANYONE ELSE doing that, and tried to stop it (he couldn't). He also signed a letter to Congress at the time, objecting to National Reciprocity. In the meantime, he has his own private shooting range out in his backyard, and, I was told by people who claimed to have shot with him, that he has AR's with full auto capability. He's a proponent of "things for me, but not for thee". Because he's special, don't you know.

That attitude is found in others in his (now former) Department. I was confronted "up in my face" by one of his officers over why I "felt the need to carry a firearm". He was yelling in my face, that "only cops and military need access to firearms". I responded (absolutely calmly, of course) that it was my right, and I had done it legally). He was NOT happy. Ask me if I give a shit about his feelings.

I had a business partner who is a FUDD, - and is a lib who voted for Biden. He thought people shouldn't be able to own an AR or AK, while he kept his shotgun he got from his dad at home in the closet, never to be used.

There are plenty of libs who own guns.

As for surveys? I don't answer survey questions at all.
