WHITE PLAINS – The Westchester County Board of Legislators passed a bill to protect pets by restricting how and when dogs can be tethered outdoors.

Under the measure adopted Monday, dogs in the county no longer will be allowed to be tethered outdoors overnight or during a weather alert.

is the County Board coming to clean up the pee and poop in the house ?? or do you just let your pit bull or pet yote run free when it has to go potty ..

This will cost some people alot of money to build an outdoor kennel ....or force them to surrender their dogs to an already overflowing adoption center.
There are alot of dogs that cannot be inside a house...ie...some huskies breeds, hunting dogs....etc. It would actually be more cruel to force these dogs into an enclosed house.
Dog houses have worked great for decades.

Cruel people are another story and should be punished. Those who leave fearful dogs tied to trees during storms with no shelter.
There are alot of terrible people doing terrible things to pets.....I see it all the time.

So does this go for law enforcement dogs? I know some of them live outside due to their training.
