What Determines Supreme Court Docket??

Ok question I have pondered the last couple of days. All this news that Supreme Court is hearing Texas abortion law today and the NYSPRA arguments weds or whatever. The NYC Gun thing is what I would say was atleast a year or so in the making so to speak...and the Texas abortion thing has just hit about what a couple months ago...BUT the Court is hearing the texas thing first and SO Soon as compared to the 2nd amendment case that they have been talking about for far longer than the texas abortion topic?? how did the Texas Aborting case move up the chains SO damn fast but our 2a case took its normal sweet time?!
I dont understand the inner working enough to know but it has made me ponder and think?!
Do they pick and choose what they hear first as compared to other topics.....Do they feel the texas abortion laws MORE Important at the moment that the 2a item as it affects on the people??

Its on a rapid docket or “ rocket docket”. It is a case that has immediate effects as opposed to possible effects. Its why it was picked up so fast. The NYS gun laws are essentially 100 years old.
