I can’t be the only one with colossal reservations about this approach. I’m not sure how I’d vet an item I wanted to sell, but if this was the only alternative I’d likely elect not to sell.

My sarcasm detector was broken earlier. Also I honestly couldn’t think of another way to accomplish the task in question. LE friend was the only thing that came to mind, but my last personal LEO acquaintance has since hung up the blues and joined the trades citing an unfavorable working environment.
Absolutely serious here, no sarcasm or anything but a serious concern. last thing I look for is any problems with the law and it’s not inconceivable of unknowingly purchase a questionable firearm from when private sales between two individuals were legal and commonplace.
I wasn’t referring to your post as sarcasm, it was @TEOTWAWKI inc. ’s post in response. Apologies if that was less than clear. It is indeed a serious concern, one that I thankfully have avoided but have no idea how to address if I did have questions about a potential new acquisition.
