I bet that we will all of a sudden have another pandemic and SCOTUS will shut down before giving a decision.

I don't have high hopes from all that has transpired since the heated debate. Almost like all this crap leading up to it was sabotage on the court's decision making.

I'm actually hearing from troopers at the complexes I work at that it's gonna drop this week. What intel they have, I have no clue. It doesn't make any sense to me, considering the state of things, for the court to drop the opinion with one more week left. It makes much more sense for them to drop it next week.

The only 2 things I can think of is the following

1) there is more than 2 landmark cases, so no just Bruen and Dobs, and so bruen may be the least "controversial"

2) (this is the one I like to think is why) tomorrow is Thomas's bday and it's a bday present to himself

Bonus (the most likely) the troopers have know idea what they are talking about and are just seeing what they see on reddit and other interwebs spots and think yea ok sure

It didn't come from patrolmen, it came a Captain. Again though, I don't know of how they would know other than looking at the court calender and speculating the same as us.
Which opinion do you think Thomas might drop tomorrow? Bruen?
What other landmark case is there?

I don't think any landmarks will come tomorrow.

I just am making the joke that Thomas's birthday is tomorrow and he's been the most vocal about the 2A and what not,


But the other rumor is tomorrow being a conference day, they could want to read the rulings out loud live for Dobs and or Bruen


I'm still dead set that June 30th is the day

The 28th is my birthday, and I’m used to disappointment. That makes decision day the 30th, or July something. Prepare for stall tactics and subterfuge. Stockpile beer, chips & salsa… it’s gonna be a little while.

It is also important to remember the Supreme Court also got slavery wrong with Dred Scott but that too was rooted in racism.

The History of Racist Roots of Supreme Court Decisions!

United States v. Cruikshank: Ruled the Bill of Rights did not apply to private actors or to state governments despite the adoption of the Fourteenth Amendment. A racist decision made by racists.
The 1876 decision undercut the post-Civil War powers of the US government to protect civil rights by leaving it up to the states to empower white supremacy. The ruling vacated convictions of white defendants for depriving Blacks of their right to keep and bear arms, the court found the Second Amendment only applied to the US government.

Presser v. Illinois: The 1886 decision grew out of a march in Chicago of an unlicensed armed citizen militia, a group of armed ethnic German workers, associated with the Socialist Labor Party. The group had been formed to counter the armed private armies of companies in Chicago. aka Gangs

The court held that a state prohibition against such groups didn’t infringe on the right to keep and bear arms in again declining to apply the Second Amendment to the states.

United States v. Miller: A challenge to the National Firearms Act of 1934. The 1939 decision overturning a district court said the National Firearms Act didn’t violate the Second Amendment. The case involved New Deal-era bank robbers charged with unlawfully transporting an unregistered sawed-off shotgun from Oklahoma to Arkansas. The court found that the type of weapon involved bore no relationship to the preservation of a well-regulated militia, and was not protected under the Second Amendment.

Finally a chance to correct the previous errors.

District of Columbia v. Heller: The landmark 2008 decision struck down a Washington, DC, handgun ban. The court said the Second Amendment protects individual gun rights unconnected with militia service, and endorsed their lawful possession for self-defense in the home. Current court conservatives Chief Justice John Roberts, and Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito signed onto the decision by fellow conservative, the late Antonin Scalia. Justice Stephen Breyer, today a liberal member of the court in his last term, dissented.

McDonald v. Chicago: The 2010 decision struck down Chicago’s handgun ban, finding that Heller applied to individual states, not just federally. What wasn’t decided in the opinion written by Alito was whether the Second Amendment applied to gun ownership outside the home. Roberts and Clarence Thomas were the other members of the current court who comprised the majority.

The U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the Dred Scott case struck down the Missouri Compromise as unconstitutional, maintaining that Congress had no power to forbid or abolish slavery in the territories. Very similar to and prior to the 14th Amendment. The decision declared African Americans were not and could never be citizens of the United States.
The question is: Democrats do not want black Americans to own guns. To accomplish this in the 1800s was easy. Today, to accomplish this dream, they must restrict all guns from all Americans in the interest of equality fairness and unity don't you know.

Will the upcoming ruling be a landmark decision or a Dred Scott decision?
Will states and the lower courts give a flying shit?

Either way, why are Democrats and gun control zealots not labeled as the bigotted racist anti-American assholes that they are? Oh that's right, they are in control of the gas lighting.

The Roe gaslighting effect is what I call it.
People are up in arms because the court is about to rule that the killing of a baby which is the sum of two individuals gestating in the womb of a "female" can either be a crime or a progressive form of birth and population control. It is up to the individual states to decide.
The Gas-Lit version is the Supreme Court it taking rights away from women! But what is a woman? I am confused. I thought women and men were to be the same.
And then there is Bruin.
