It's sad that we can't even make decent priced hand tools in our own country! (Not Snap On/Matco/etc) And yet our administration thinks we can tell China and these other countries to go take a hike? Where are we going to make all of our chips and other crap that we all think we "need"?

Not to be too speculative, but this may be a haunting signal as to what is coming down the line. Hopefully I'm wrong.

If we were smart instead of outsourcing all our cheap shit to china, we should be sending it to Mexico. It would be a genius move.

Much closer, cheaper transportation costs, we would be propping up a country that ideally should be in our sphere of influence and if Mexico was more prosperous we would have less illegals coming here. More of them would stay in Mexico which would be a net win for the US. All the money we're dumping into china should be sent to places like Mexico, Honduras, Columbia etc.

In the very near future, Americans are going to wake up one morning, and wonder WTF happened, when they can't travel more than 20 miles from home. When they can't buy that above ground pool, or that second car, Or they can't buy food. Or they can't buy that cup of coffee at the government controlled worksite, because the .gov says you're not worthy. Your social score is terrible.

There still are quite a few of US hand tool makers that aren't "premium" brands but the list gets smaller and smaller. Wright, SK, Klein, Channellock,, some Tekton. There are other manufacturers that are US but do not offer a tool line just specific categories of tools like wilde, Bondhus, Estwing.
