Bought ammo from Runnings, in Rome yesterday, Wednesday. First day of the bullshit. Took 4 hours to get approval. PLAN AHEAD!

When I actually did an ammo check, email and phone were optional. The directions did not make that clear (what a surprise). Not sure about firearms' check. Soc. Security Number was mandatory, for ammo.

I am still miffed that they want to know your occupation. What does that have to do with anything? What if you are unemployed, or have never held a job?
Why stop at SS, dob and address? I'm not applying for a car loan. Why not height, weight, eye color and place of birth? Not that I expect them to make sense in what they do but they could have kept everything on the downlow, just used drivers license numbers and had all the same information in their little database. I cant wait for someone to hack it, what a ripe honeypot of identity theft.

One of the Shops I associate with has a customer that's "pending" on one gun and went to another Shop and bought a gun and was "proceed" so as of five this afternoon there still wasn't a determination... imagine that: wait while we decide in one shop and good to go in another not two hours later. WTF!

That refers to the card itself. The card is not considered a valid form of ID. The # is.

I have heard from more than one that the NYSP's web site IS NOT Secure and with all that PII being sent, recorded and stored, well it sure as hell isn't going to long before there's a breach and ensuing identity theft, but that's not their Problem. OH, and just in case it didn't dawn on you: By submitting to the process, you have been identified as an active gun owner. Remember the covid passport and how you wouldn't be able to do certain things?

I doubt there is any FFL that can comply with all the regulations to operate their business. As an example, they must have a security camera showing the door from the inside and outside 24 hours a day and recordings kept for 2 years. After contacting their security people, a friend of mine told me that they have no suck equipment or a way of downloading the video to an external source. That alone could be a reason for the state to shut him down not to mention all the other regulations that are difficult or impossible to comply with.
My question to all of you is, have you emailed, called or made your opinions known to your elected officials? I know many will say it will do no good so our anger will just fade away in time just as it has with the original safe act. Frankly every FFL I have talked to has said they are tired of being the ones complained to as they have no say or can't do anything about it. So, instead of harping at your FFL, which does nothing, call or flood the governor's office with emails. Your FFL is on your side and doesn't deserve to be the target of anger as they have to commit to a greater monetary way to keep the stores open and you all know who will ultimately bear the cost of that.
That's my rant, take it any way you want.

Background checks will never be overturned by any court and they know that. No one wants to be responsible for putting a gun into a killers hands. We are stuck with this imo. Maybe a modification on what information can be asked for but that’s it.

The long gun check I did, have to provide:
Make, Model and SERIAL NUMBER. semi-auto. In addition to name, Soc Security Number, street address, BD, height, weight and occupation. Did you have any doubt this was a registry? I have had people tell me they did not believe it was. Well, IT IS!!
I have a lady on delay for a box of freaking shotshell. She said she has never done anything, doesn't even have a ticket.
That arrogant freeze faced witch was back touting her red flag laws today. I would like to know how many gaurds she has and what they carry.
I am going to say this and some of you have heard me say this in the shop. I have met a few thousand people doing this and by far the majority are OK people. Why the hell are we being watched and micromanaged? Why is there so much time and money being put into putting us under a microscope? I HATE sending in information that should be private. Remember when there was the attempt a few years ago to put out all CC info? Name and addresses. How long before the long gun info gets put out? I have tried to gear myself to this but haven't suceeded. If it would do any good I would go cry. (I have never figured out why girls cry when really mad but here I am.)

I have emailed my Senator many times. Dan Stec. He claims to be a big supporter of 2A but he never knows anything about the CCIA, it’s nuances, or cares enough to say anything out loud. He calls himself far right on these issues. He doesn’t even have his staffers bother sending me a “thanks for your email,” any more. I am always polite, professional, unemotional, factual and concise. He is invisible. So yeah, it falls on deaf ears.
