. Still though, I am thinking of bringing 1 or 2K of that ammo down to my son in AR so he has something to shoot through his rifles down there. Then again, I may just buy him some; otherwise I may be shorting myself by bringing him what I have on hand! I am hoping to visit him early next month and stop over at AIM Surplus or Palmetto State Armory (dependent on which route I take on my road trip to AR & FL or will it be FL &d AR) and will pick some up at whichever of those dealers I hit first (definitely want to stop at both on the different legs of my trip). I am going to see if I can order online at their online prices and do a store pick-up.

I knew I had all that 223 and 5.56 ammo on hand for a reason even though I did not have anything with which to shoot it all. Now I do have something to shoot it
I had one years ago. Took it to Calverton (one of the very few times I ever shot there) and barely could keep half the shots on paper at 50 yards. I had shot them before at work many times, no problems. I was a darned good shot with them too. Sold that one to a guy via GunBroker and I explained the problem I was having in the item description before he bought it. He loved it ad said it was as accurate as could be. Either he was lying or a much better shot than me or there was a difference in the ammo we were shooting through it. I had to wonder if it was the Israeli Military Industries 55 grain ammo I was shooting that made the difference, then remembered I had shot some other brand or two of 55 grain ammo with the same poor results. Maybe the guy who bought it and loved it was shooting heavier bullets, but I do not remember if he told me that or not. Back then, I never had a clue such things could make such a difference. Anyway, my guess is that it had as much to do with the old barrels flexing as it did with the ammo I was shooting and I figure I got a bad one that flexed a lot. Never really was disappointed I sold that Mini 14 but always was dismayed that after that they went up in price at least here in NY. Finally coughed up the bucks for this one and it looks like there is no reason to regret it and only cause to be happy.Can't go wrong with Ruger Mini14 I kicked myself every so often had four of them traded and sold them have the need to replace again !
