Hamas doesn't give a damn about the Palestinian Authority or Gaza: Their mission is elimination of the Jews, plain and simple, and should they be successful then they'll have all the Lands for their "State" but it'll never end there, and short of some genetically designed, totally lethal virus that attacks anyone with that genetic marker. (total elimination of Jews) there will never be Peace with the Radicals, which is why they must be eradicated with extreme prejudice, and action We should avoid at all costs, which means we're already asshole deep into.

Hamas leadership has only one real mission, and that is exploiting the Palestinian people for their own personal advancement.
Their 2 primary tools for this are selling them out as propaganda tools and cannon fodder for Iran, and causing as much suffering among them as they can to pander to the white savior complex the western left has.
These tools have a strong synergistic relationship, so they have been very successful on both fronts.
I don't understand why this is viewed in a vacuum and not in the larger context of geopolitics. Mostly right now, Old World economics vs BRiCS. The motivations and implications of and for the puppet-masters seem to be ignored.
Establishing the IMEC Corridor is in part a great motivation and is a direct challenge China's Belt and Road. Previous Iran (think China proxy)-backed threats (including Iran) have been eliminated or neutered by Israel and the US. The last prominent threat is in Gaza. And surprise, surprise...the Arab countries now calling for Hamas to stand down?...those that make up the corridor; and also joined by those (Arab and otherwise) that stand to benefit from it.
Trump's handling of India right now looks to me like training a puppy...either a treat or a swat on the snout. India has a shaky foot in both camps and IMEC is the treat to withdraw from BRICS, tariffs are the swat if it stays. Given their history, India is the weak link in BRICS . One that Old Money would like to see broken. The two most populous countries on Earth dominating? They're not going to let that happen.
I'm not saying any of this is a bad thing, just that it underlies much of what is happening.

So kind of pimping themselves (their forces) out as willing pawns to Iran and at the same time playing on the pity of western nations?
Can we conclude that they have no real inherent ambition or political designs as nation would have and it's only power for power sake?
So if Iran hates Israel, they too must hate Israel (I'm sure they do but...) really it's all about being boot-licking lackeys. Seems that is a place to drive a wedge....maybe why some western nations give aid, but too stupid to realize they're being played on both sides.

It's not even power for power's sake. It's straight up greed.
They siphon off money from western aid, the accept money from Iran to stir up trouble, and they live high on the hog off the money in Qatar.
They're basically your garden variety organized crime bosses, they're just selling the suffering of the Palestinian people instead of cocaine.
The bosses of Hamas probably love Isreal.
For the same reason the drug cartels love the DEA.
Because without that opposition, their entire business disintegrates.
