This peaked my interest and wanted to get your thoughts. I like that it’s your real gun and trigger. I like that it blows back so simulated real shooting and has a function to hold the slide back after multiple shots so simulated may changes. Hat rack, tap, and roll function to simulate malfunctions.

I watched a video of it and it seemed like it was reasonably quiet and I could get away with it in my basement or insulated garage. Again this was just a video.

IMHO, you can also buy a GBB Green Gas or CO2 AirSoft pistol in almost every model handgun there is and rifle. All controls the same. Outfit it as you would your CCW.

Have a training buddy get one too. The benefit is that you can actually train one on one with a buddy using eyewear, t shirt and shorts and put all that BS range theatrics to the test. Pain a real motivator.

This training when approached properly with reality in mind, can provide a great assessment of range training when some honest thinking of life and death are applied. Things I discovered were:


1) you will not pick up your front sight, red dot or anything else when your buddy draws on you to present the required deadly threat.
2) you will be moving off the X
3) you will learn that action beats reaction 99.9999% of the time. Not taking into account your level of performance after being shot of course.
4) you will understand your reality in if ever you have to draw from concealment to address a threat that has their weapon out and in accordance with NY article 35, a threat to you, your family or others.
5) you will be more aware of cover available to you in your surrounds that might be a priority option.

Now in a real situation, adrenaline dump will cause tunnel vision and a fight or flight response you may not be able to dictate the outcome of. No one really now until it happens. It like attempting to fail a reflex test on your leg. This is why I believe point shooting to 10 yards to be a critical skill everyone that carries a pistol must practice. We all should know what that involves and to practice. The welts from 6mm BB's the reminder of this to practice. A few 40 yard sprints will get the heart pump and provide the simulated heart increase after the adrenaline dump before running the one on one drill.

You will not be able to take your eyes of your impending death to acquire any sights. The body and mind will not allow that when in milliseconds you're possible down, dead or dying.

I approach every training session with all this in mind now. Whether live fire or AirSoft. Going one on one with someone at a distance of what constitutes a threat in the eyes of NY law is an eye opening experience. There is a reason most tactical YouTuber's don't approach the topic. It doesn't sell training or gear.

We all should be at a level where in unfortunate moment, we come out the other side alive. Using realistic training and our heads.
