It should not come as a surprise to see the Senator who lost her 2010 primary, then refused to leave congress and ran as a write in candidate; then supported changing the state voting system to a ranked choice structure; who then lost again in 2022 but ultimately won because Democrats all listed her as their second choice in the new structure; come out against anything that would lead to stronger voting requirements.

Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski has now pledged to vote against the SAVE Act. The SAVE Act would bar states from registering a person to vote unless they provide documents or evidence proving U.S. citizenship. It would also require all Americans to present ID when they go to vote. The SAVE Act is supported by President Trump and strongly opposed by GOPe members of the UniParty.

The legislation, introduced by Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, has 48 GOP cosponsors and Trump has repeatedly called on Congress to pass it in recent days. Even if it gains a majority of the chamber, it is subject to the 60-vote threshold, and Democrats have vowed to block it.

Do you know anyone over the age of 18 that does not have some form of government issued ID. ? The liberal talking point against voter ID is most black folks have not a clue on how to obtain one. ... This is an outright lie. Look to India for voting results ... One day voting can be done.
There is massive voter fraud in this country. ... We can complain about our gun rights being trampled upon... We will never get them back until we get fair elections . Perhaps no one should need to identify themselves, Guns being a primary focus here I revert to the days before the GCA of 1968 when buying a gun wasn't anymore complex than buying a Broom and Shovel.
I DO think there needs to be some sort of unambiguous means to insure no one votes more than once and that they are eligible to vote...Not that NY is free from voter fraud, the system we use seems to be pretty solid unless Poll Workers conspire to commit Fraud, which in a small location is unlikely.
Somewhere in SW Asia, there was a story about the emergence of Elections where previously they were a sham, voters dipped their finger in a purple indelible ink to signify they voted...How about a Finger print reader where you simply place a digit and it's matched against the database? Sounds good, until it gets back to the Fraud we have now with Electronic Voting Machines and the virtually daily proof that someone fucked with the results...No matter how good the encryption, people with or without authorization can and have gotten into these machines.
I wonder if Students still have to present ID before being allowed to take certain Tests? I had to.
Not being argumentative or dismissive, only trying to figure out why showing an identification, something virtually every American Adult but Rip Wheeler has.

Appreciate the response, I think part of my issue is that no matter what system we come up with their will be a work around and the good people are still stuck with even more restrictions on our rights. I have very little trust in our govt, i feel it is far too corrupt to earn my trust. In practicality it wouldnt take much to show my license when i go vote, afterall i need to drive there anyway. But when states gives licenses to people who arent citizens, how does that help us? There are many ways people can get govt ids from multiple states too.
Its the incremental creep that concerns me, just like with our gun rights. Next thing you know ill need to show my govt id when crossing state lines. The powerful people that run the world frame issues in a way so that we support our own loss of freedom. Im not looking to play their game so thats why I asked the question. Facial recognition, finger prints, etc... the cats already out of the bag, but i dont like it. As it pertains to gun rights look at how the AFT created a gun owner database even though it is illegal to do so. The law doesnt matter to them, they are all above it, and we suffer the loss of freedom.

What has happened to the 2nd Amendment is EXACTLY why I cant get behind any laws that diminish my rights or freedoms. When you willingly give the govt the authority to have an inch, they will ABSOLUTELY take a mile.

I believe you to be right, which is why such a majority of the Country voted for and elected Trump, we're sick of being cheated at the Polls, we've don't want our Streets and Neighborhoods flooded with People who take without assimilation, that many of the Laws governing guns are unconstitutional bullshit, and all these changes the Left is howling about are a result of their failed policies and desire to implement them with force.
Perhaps wiping the Voter Rolls clean and requiring a new Registration supported by positive identification is in order?
One or two elections with ID then letting things settle back to an Honest System?
I wonder how many People do shit like vote in one State, then travel South for the Winter and vote again there? Thankfully if one is too poor to have ID (which is bullshit itself) that person had one of these government IDs.
