Obviously they dont have the range to hit us from Asia. But they sure can hit us . commercial , and fishing ships, drones purchased in the US and modified. Parts smuggled in from the southern border . suicide or modified Cessna planes loaded with explosives , drones fired from Canada or mexico . If they have the means, motive and opportunity they can do it

Look at the club K missiles.
Look at what the ukranians did in Russia to the Russian bombers with operation spiderweb.

It doesn't take a genius to come up with an idea to load up some harmless looking containers on a ship and deploy them from off the coast...

Planes and ships don't last forever no matter how well they're maintained. Critical structures weaken and eventually fail. Many of those failure points are in places that are impossible or nearly impossible to inspect. Metals of all types fatigue and either become soft or brittle leading to failure. Micro cracks can turn into structural instability very fast.

It's also something that is done continuously war or no war.

This is rhe airborne equivalent of a traffic accident, could have happened stateside just as easily.

At that point it's just bog standard terrorism.

They could load up a truck full of fertilizer too. They've done it before, and the only way they won't do it again is if they're dead.

So far the only POTUS in 40 years that's worked on the only way to prevent that is Trump.

All of that is valid but they do have drones with a range of over 1000 miles. They could be launched from cargo ships and flown NOE in an attempt to avoid radar.

Im just kidding but if had to guess I would say that most Americans are not into this war, nothing to to stir up the pot and piss Americans off more than a burning aircraft carrier . Recruiting is down and theres talk of a draft . dead Americans in the water would really motivate people like 911.

I would guess they might take Kharg Island first. If Iran is going to fall Kharg Island would probably look like Kuwait right after the Iraqi army pulled out. I think it may be Iran's largest oil loading facility. Trump is going to want that in one piece.

Saw a pic and article about that island a day or 2 ago. It was described as the "epicenter" of all Iran oil business. First thing I thought was " why arent we taking control of that". When I saw today that 2500 Marines were on the way I assumed they were going there.
