You are correct. The SAGA ACT addresses restrictions on "Modern Sporting Arms" (so called Assault Rifles) and restrictions on standard magazines (so called high capacity magazines). The bill was very carefully constructed so that it can be passed into law and it appears that it will be.

If this becomes law, it'll likely be fought by Infringing States, and certain "Circus" Courts could likely rule in the States' favor.
Lets see ... Some 9th circuit judge will rule against it ... and it will never get picked to be heard by SCOTUS . .... And the government lawyers will cite Mother Jones in arguing their case ... again

That explains everything. Every movement to secure a right in court has been a long, arduous journey; hence "SAGA." Gay marriage is the most recent example. Political, legal, and social battles were fought for decades leading up to Obergefell . Some gun owners are overly defeatist and following that mentality will end in a self-fulfilled prophecy. We're not giving up now.
I have been looking for anything moving with regard to National Concealed Carry Reciprocity bill HR38. Just saw a Fox News article where Rep. Hudson says that they expect to get voted on in the House committee next month.

I am aware that the Tresmond's do not have a very warm track record with some of us on gun issues. Seems like they tried and did not have much success. As I understand it, Collin's SAGA bill, HR3576 has its' origins in SCOPE, and the Tresmond's were involved in that.
OK, so what? I've read the bill, and it strikes me as well written, with good potential effect against NYSAFE and other similar infringements, and, that it has teeth against actions by the anti crowd. So, I'll throw my support behind it, and hope we can get it passed (as well as rammed right up Princess Qhomo's ugly ass) ASAP.

Yeah, some of us don't have the warm fuzzies about the Tresmonds, and some have a bad taste about a guy named Shooter, and I could go on . . . BUT these were attempts to right the wrongs we were dealt. We must continue to fight, with a committed, solidified front. We MUST get behind these movements, these attempts, these efforts to get rid of the absolute shit we've been fed for so long. Yup, I'm bummed about Shooter backing out of the effort on the other site. Yup, I'm disappointed by the lack of success that the Tresmonds have had, but damn, if we don't keep trying we will only slide further back. Hell, if we gave up in the first week in November we'd have Hildebeast running the country and probably be losing even more of our rights. Stop sucking on the lemons and start making lemonade people.
