Blackrock is awesome. Been a member for several years but unfortunately haven't paid 2017 dues due to personal circumstances. I'm trying to get back in good standing. Pike County range is worth the trip. I prefer unsupervised ranges and you can get good deals in town on ammo.

Im actually planning on joining monroe-chester since i have a bunch of friends who are members there and had gone there many times already.
probably file an application in a few months but for now im still looking for more options for outdoor public ranges

Even Putnam County Fish and Game is a good 45 minutes from my house.

1-3/4 hours is too far for a few rounds but it would make a nice road trip if you wanted to spend a half a day and bring a bunch of guns. That's why I'm looking forward to checking this place out.

For the record, all PA public ranges only allow 3 rounds for rifles and 6 rounds for pistol.

BM Pistol range is plenty good OK! Walt is chatting but a great guy. Knows how to handle newbies well, while giving plenty of room to those who know what they're doing or are regulars. I go there often, but this year I haven't really been able to shoot much and I'm afraid my ammo is growing stale I've also done some tactical pistol classes there which was OK too.

I have quite a few friends at Putnam but never wanted to join because I don't want to donate time, although they do great things there for Boy Scouts and stuff. I spoke to my buddy a little while ago who's a member, and without divulging my distance, we discussed how I'd probably blow through 5x the ammo I usually shoot if I joined just because ease of access. I used to visit Coyne Park but it's been years. Was good there though and never was bothered, I liked it because I would commute to city and shoot there on way out of city after work. Just show up, do my shooting, clean up and leave. Tried Shooters up in CT, is ok for indoor range but a hike.
I should probably bucket up and get an app in @ Putnam, lol...

What I like about Wooster is that you can shoot your pistol, shotgun, and rifle from the same table. It's 20 bucks for the whole day.BM Pistol range is plenty good OK! I stopped going because I cannot bring my AR there so it isn't worth it to me anymore. In CT, certain AR's are banned by name and featureless are illegal as well.
If you aren't bringing those types of rifles, Wooster is good.
That is indeed damn horrendous lol. Even Wooster being mighty close to scaredy cat Sandy Hook let's you shoot what you want. I hear AR 15s that scream dozens sometimes when I'm there(before they get scolded by the MC old dude running the mic lol) but I definitely wouldn't have thought PA to be so restrictive. Meh..no wonder they were the hold out during the election...FUDDs in Wolf's clothing..
I don't donate time lol. Once for my probation hours timeframe I did the boy scouts shoot cause I knew it would fulfill my 4 hours and all it was was Loading .22s for 12 year olds and sweeping at the end. On the plus side, they have public ranges. There aren't too many if those in New York.

I miss that little range in ardsley i only got to shoot there twice before it was shut down. But for pistols I have no problem at bear mountain.

Paul Feiner gave Toll Brothers a permit to build houses 500 feet from the gun range.
Most people that bought these monster houses were educated idiots and did not even know that the gun range existed.
A woman in one of the closer houses called and came up with the story she was hit by a fragment from a bullet.
Impossible, she probably cut herself on a rose bush as so many said.
When the EMS arrived she refused medical attention.
