When it comes to shotguns I prefer Mossberg over Remington because of the Fire Controls, and this thing looks really awesome.

I don't know myself, I could see the benefit to the magazine. When the gun is fully loaded you'll have less front end weight the swing around because the center of gravity will be closer to the body, and I think it would prove to be faster in the long run to change mags then to top off unless you're competition 3 Gunner. However, with a magazine there's a greater chance of failure and I think tube fed is going to be more reliable in the long run. Plus keep in mind if we were in a free state where we could actually have a 20 round magazine that would be pretty badass.

We kind of had this discussion in another thread. Unless you have a 20 rounder which we can't legally, it's faster to just top off in my opinion.

Let's say you open your bedroom door. With a 10 rd magazine, you fire 4 rounds. What will you do next? Change the magazine and drop 6 rounds on the floor to continue going forward or continue with the 6 remaining? So you continue with the 6 remaining. Open the next bedroom door and fire 3 more. Now you are down to 3 rounds left. Do you continue with those 3 rounds and try to reload in the middle of the next engagement or drop the magazine with 3 good rounds to continue down the hallway?

On the other hand if you have a tubular 10 rounder, every time you fire 2 to 3 rounds, you can top off quickly when there is no immediate threat after clearing each room without dropping partially loaded mags on the floor or stuffing your pockets with those partially loaded mags and still have the ability to fire multiple rounds if new targets present themselves while you are topping off.

At least that's how I see it.

Hmm. I think a semi magazine fed only because it semi. I wouldn't want a lever action. But I think if they made a tube fed .223, I'd pick that for the reasons in my other post.

The reality is that they have us by the balls with the 10 rd limit. With a 20 or 30 rd magazine, one wouldn't have to worry about such issues.

After giving it more thought, the perfect solution is to couple another 10 rd magazine onto another 10 rd magazine. It's certainly long enough to have a side by side couple. That way you have a quick way to top off without dropping partially loaded magazines on the ground.

So I reverse my opinion. Mag fed is better.

They are also going to offer the shockwave with the mag option, gives you a smaller package, more firepower (top with a mini red dot and not a bad package)

mossberg just caching up still don't care for the aluminum receiver the action bars just eat the aluminum in hard use that's why u don't see many mossy's as trap or skeet guns the safety is all wrong if u use a pistol grip stock. good for the money but imop not up to a 870

You can always get mini shells for a tube fed effectively increasing capacity and topping off in the interim. They will not reliably feed from a magazine. I think I would be more apt to go with a tube fed.

At the ranges you're likely to be at inside the home from my understanding of the mini 12g rounds (having never fired them) is they are going to still be lethal. Past that they start to perform poorly.

I've read about them being a viable option in the Shockwave for home defense inside the home.

I offered my opinion that mini shells can increases round count and still offer lethal defense results. In addition, I provided footage of testing results of some sort. You said gimmick. That's your opinion. I rather have a "gimmick" shell that works for HD than an empty mag to throw at someone. Fuck ballistics at 30' for a HD scenario.

Spare mag sound much better to me than "may not be reliable"
