There is no personal wealth there to compete with prince andrew's treasure chest. He is poorer than many of us and self funding is impossible. Campaign financing for honest republicans seeking state wide offices in New York is a lot of work. Faso and Asterino had some great hard working finance people when running for governor but were well out-gunned and Lazio had some well to do successful celebrities (Scaramucci et al) build a just big enough war chest.

Astorino was Westchester county exec. A totally blue county and couldn't win his gubernatorial bid. This is going to be an incredibly tough challenge for a no name like Molinaro. I'll be all in for him, but it won't be easy.

I'll put in towards his war chest. Just like I did for Astorino.

Nobody said ousting The Commie Cuomo dynasty would be easy but we finally accomplished it with his daddy way back in 1982 and Mario was much more loved than little Andy is right now. This CAN be done. We just have to get off our asses, stop all the whining and complaining that he can’t be beat and mobilize our base.

I agree. I think now is our time. He is pretty hated right now. Even by some liberals. Especially NYC. He has not fixed the subway and they are pissed.

Only thing that scares me is the news papers call Cuomo a moderate and the girl from sex and city running against him is progressive. If Cuomo’s a moderate and she more on the left that could be bad.

Guess you don't get to Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, or Houston much. Deep blue and California like wacky now. I am even worried a bit about the Cruz seat now. No longer a slam dunk and he is way behind in campaign chests.

I appreciate your optimism, but NY has drastically changed its "values" and demographics in the past decades.

In 1994, RINO Pataki rode in on the death penalty issue (even Howard Stern claimed he may run just to get it re-instated) and beat Cuomo, there was the Republican revolution that year after two years of Slick Willy's first term, in which Pataki benefited from. We also use to have a Republican senator, though he was a RINO, but still until 1999 he was there.

NY now has too many have-nots, too many immigrants registered (and voting) as Dems, and too many minorities brainwashed that Republicans are "racist."

This state is doomed to generations of Democrat politics.

You are close enough. He is not what you would guess. Go somewhere and meet him, he is quite accessible and even entertaining.
