I haven’t heard much about hoe this would effect NY, but seems it would be difficult to register semiautomatic firearms with the NFA since NFA are not an option for New Yorkers. Anyone hear of any pro gun organizations looking at that potential issue or am I missing something?

I would still prefer featureless vs fixed mag. There are plenty of work arounds to reload through ejection port and different ways to pull back pin if you go fixed mag. I would just want my rifle to function as designed and clear malfunctions, if needed,the way I was trained to.

I’m getting ready to retire from LEO career and NRA Instructor. How do I get one of these “expert witness jobs”? I doubt any of the activist DAs and Judges would like my opinion.

I have seen a couple Coonan’s have problems if the ammo isn’t hot enough. Also the grip is wider that standard 1911. I like my DW Valor in 10mm better. It’s been reliable through the first 1000 rounds.

If you have any type of astigmatism, you may do better with the circle dot. I have a hard time seeing a red dot. I don’t see a circle. The EOTech type reticle are easier for me to get fast and accurate shots at distance. For CQB it doesn’t really matter either way.

It doesn’t. It just might be easier to get an FFL to write up a receipt describing AR pistol with barrel length and caliber.

He wouldn’t just put the upper on your lower and charge you for it? It would take less than a minute. There is plenty of FFL that will. Just tell them you need a receipt to show it’s a pistol. Probably DD’s would do it, but call a few FFL’s.

Not quite enough for a 30 day siege, but not worried about going to the range weekly.

You could probably bring the upper to the FFL and have him assemble it for $20 or so if you are concerned.

I like the Viking tactic V TAC. Haley Strategic makes a good sling also, but since the V Tac is on work rifle, I just keep it simple.

I just spoke to someone from TPD. He said he is going to be ok, but it was bad at the scene. Hopefully no turn for the worse and he makes a full recovery.

I used to go to Niagara Gun Range every weekend and usually run 300 rounds through my Glock 17 and then another 100-200 through something else. They closed before all this COVID stuff, but definitely need to find a place soon.
