I have not made a study of the penal code, but I have read bits and pieces. It is an indecipherable collection of garbage...might as well be in a foreign language. Go back to the Sullivan Act, delete, delete, delete. The code in whole ignores the 2nd.
I think the whole business just plain gets mind numbingly stupid. As pretty much said above, a firearm is a firearm...and even the definition of a firearm is off the rails.
I have a rifle in a pistol caliber...is this a pistol nefariously disguised as a rifle, or an assault pistol, or some yet...
I'm a fan of old 22s, and glad to hear yours is back to full functionality. I have an old Mossberg single shot, the Boy Scout Rifle, and that has a automatic safety when you draw the bolt back...first thing that owners removed. I was able to find the long gone part and restore it.

Going through the Buffalo news, finger pointing is just starting up. There's some video of trashed stores, the cops have made a few arrests,...everybody is doing a great job....
Even Schumer is getting into the act.

I got my first bb gun, the Daisey Model 25, through the mail by selling flower seeds door to door. I was a kid and did all kinds of stuff to make a few bucks...paper routes, scrounging scrap, returning bottles, mowing lawns, and so on.
Things were different in those days.
I tend to favor Leupold (not LEOPOLD), and I like Simmons for my 22 plinkers. But fact is there's a ton of high quality brands out there. Pricewise, lots of folks end up paying for more scope than they really need, and trying to sort through hype is a pain.
