Form the grip, find the sights, place the sights where they should be, take up the slack in the trigger, reconfirm sights, press trigger (not pull or squeeze, but "press"). If you don't see the sights where they should be, you shouldn't be pressing the trigger. It's simple.
Oddly, shooting with one hand (either isde0 will actually help with your two handed grip and your understanding of what needs to happen to be able to establish a proper solid two handed grip.
The idea is to use BOTH hands equally in gripping the gun. The 60/40 - 70/30 myth is some NRA 1974 technique that I can easily debunk with anyone in a class. You want equal pressure both side of the gun. You have two hands, why not use them both to the best of your ability?
Big fan of the death grip on the gun. Grip the gun as tight as possible. I'll even drop the elbows a bit to close up that gap in the back of the grip.....
