I have a side charger AR, mine has the bolt knob on the right side screwed directly into the bolt, yeah, it moves as the bolt moves but isn't in the way when firing. The link posted is interesting, I had never heard of them.

If you can pick them up use a log splitter to make them small enough to fit in your smelting pot, you are going to melt/flux/skim in a separate pot from your casting pot, right?
