I'm pleased with the one rimfire Nikon Prostaff that I have. The BDC reticle is not useful to me but it's easy to ignore if desired. I would stay away from "see under" rings. Once you have a scope on you'll never want to use the open sights, aluminum rings are not sturdy and, as mentioned above...
It's a center-fire, and considerably older than the CF's. Converted from a Pattern 1914 Enfield to a BSA model "E" in 1952. The width of the base is key in getting a good fit.
