    M2 Carbine

I used to shoot an M1 in 3 gun comps for years. Lightweight, No recoil or jams, Accurate and Ammo was cheap. Time to blow the dust off it and send some lead down range for old times sake. SJC

    Any Dillon 550 users here?

Mid 80's I bought my first 550, than a 650 in the mid 90's. Sold the 650 and bought another 550 dedicated to load 9mm, with a case and homemade bullet feeder. Replaced the Manual Mini Mr bullet feeder with a 3D printed motorized bullet feeder. I can easily crank out 600 quality rounds an hour...

    Shoulder holster

Very Nice holster, especially if you have multiple shells already. I needed a double shoulder holster for my .44 mag revolvers and found a good source. Plenty of other style holsters too. Gun Holsters - Made in USA - Barsony Holsters SJC

Opinions and tips on crossbow hunting

How loud is it when taking a shot ? I thought my 10 pt was pretty quiet, until I shot a friends 10 Pt with a limb silencer kit. I use mechanical Rage two blade broad heads, as I had some arrow flight deviation with fixed blade broad heads. There's probably better suited/ Designed broad heads out...

    First Bolt action rifle

Take it easy. If I was going to put a brake like that on a 6.5, I hope someone would let me know that that radical brake doesn't go with that short barreled rifle. The concussion is going to be worse than it has to be and it just doesn't fit with the rest of the nice work you've done building...

    First Bolt action rifle

I'm Sorry, but that 6.5 low recoiling rifle should have a muzzle brake on the end of the barrel, not a canoe paddle !!!!!

Want to buy my first rifle. Need help!!!

You would need to remove the threads, or totally cut them off and re-crown the barrel, which looks like shit.

Want to buy my first rifle. Need help!!!

If you didn't live so far away, I'd let you try out some NY legal rifles. Primarily the Ares/fightlite lower, which I've used to build dozens of rifles for fellow slaves with total satisfaction. I just wish that fightlite would make a slave state 308 lower. I also make a kit to make all brands...

    Over under shotguns- Browning Cynergy

Cynergy is a great shotgun. I see a lot of them in the field and on clay ranges. This is the model I would Recommend. It's adjustable and in your price range. Browning Cynergy CX Composite 12ga 28" NEW 3" - Over Under Shotguns at GunBroker.com : 814354261 I wish they would make one in 28ga. SJC

Mommy woodchuck... I can't do it

When I used to get those dirt dogs around my garden fence, I would blow them up with homemade 12ga perimeter trip wire alarms that I would bury under a bait pile. Aguila 7.5 birdshot mini shells worked the best.

Intro to PRS style comp Range session (Cancelled)

Not enough interest from any of the sites I posted the proposed date on and not a lot of dates available either, so the intro course has been cancelled. Maybe next year ? If a anyone would like to meet at the range to do some shooting and maybe learn something about PRS style shooting, maybe...

Intro to PRS style comp Range session (Cancelled)

I'm not sure, but it would probably be one of the long range instructors who shoots PRS matches. With the lack of enthusiasm I'm getting ,I don't think there's going to be enough shooters to have the class anyway. SJC

I guess dissension is in your DNA, as I asked for the SAFE act BS to stop in this thread. Then I guess you won't be attending any matches in NYS with a non compliant or registered Gas gun. Whether you like it or not, SAFE is a Law, albeit an asinine law. It's your choice to make the decision to break the law, but asking organizers of a public event to look the other way because you...

Intro to PRS style comp Range session (Cancelled)

At a PRS match, Your gear should be tested and ready to go. If a rifle breaks down during a stage, you bow out and hopefully fix it between stages. If it breaks down again, you bow out of the match. With spotters, RO's and shooters on the line at each stage in close proximity, a safe firearm and...

Intro to PRS style comp Range session (Cancelled)

Unless your LEO or MiI,the gasser would need to be SAFE Act compliant and in a caliber suited for shots out to 1k. This isn't going to be a course where you bring your old beater and let it rip, It's for shooters interested in getting into the sport. I shot just under 50%, which surprised me, as...

Intro to PRS style comp Range session (Cancelled)

Intro, is learning what to expect and need before attending a PRS style match. Just search the Google on PRS and your inundated with so much info, it can be very intimidating. The main point is safety, but there will be more info if we get more people interested to actually make a date. SJC

This would be an on range instructional course. Meaning, You will be learning and shooting. You don't have to shoot, but that would be like paying to enter the candy store and not eating any candy. Minimum Gear required to shoot. Brain, Hearing + Eye protection, Mag Fed Rifle, Ammo, 10 rd...

Since there's a lot of interest in PRS style comps, but new shooters can get a bit overwhelmed at their first match without a mentor or friend to show them the ropes, I inquired about running an intro to PRS style comps with the general at sheepdog warrior range. U.S. Special Operators Want a Tiny Assault Rifle

Well, how did the Calico you owned function ? That's Right, you didn't own one and I did for over a decade, So my opinion on them counts and your is just BS keyboard blabber. Being I know of 2 other 950's, one carbine and a .22lr that never had any issues either, I guess my actual user...

U.S. Special Operators Want a Tiny Assault Rifle

I would've put my calico against any pistol out there. I put thousands of rounds through it and multiple 100 round magazines in a row without issue. Most of the "unreliable" claims are from unreliable sources. I sold it to an acquaintance in PA and it's still shooting to this day. Maybe in the...

U.S. Special Operators Want a Tiny Assault Rifle

I had a Calico M950 and SP89 when it was legal to own them in NY. If they were both select fire, the Calico would be my choice. 50 and 100 round magazines gave you twice or four times the round capacity of the H&K or any of the other production machine pistol's available at the time...

    Taurus revolvers

While I dislike their Semi auto's, my two Taurus 444UL .44 mag revolvers have been good to me and that's what I've been carrying while Hunting or Hiking in bear country for years. Black aces tactical SMax shotgun

My pro series S had an issue and I sent it back, but it came back tested, broken in and ready to rock. For the weirdos who prefer DAO over striker fired

Bad ass and I think SAFE ACT compliant

The US Army used the 50 spotter (M48) chambered semi auto aiming tool mounted on a Howitzer for the same purpose as the russian tank mounted aiming tool. I have a shellholder rifle chambered in the 50 spotter. No sniper rifle, but it does a lot of damage to anything that's in the way of the 822...

Getting ready for my first handgun match.

Great shooting, and sometimes it's good to video your performance, as it lets you see the issues you need to work on. At least NY'ers aren't left out in the cold with the 10 round magazine restrictions in Production, SS and limited 10. It's a freaking shame they needed to make a special limited...

Years ago, my good friends father who WAS a Deputy Sheriff in another state didn't remove a 30/30 hunting rifle after responding to a domestic call, because the male was a good buddy of another officer in the dept. It sucks getting old !

So I had this idea in my head to build a 30-06 remage rifle for a backup PRS rifle this year, with the receiver from my first left hand Rem 700 rifle I bought back in the mid 80's. Getting Ready For Medium Long Range Chuck Hunting

I had a 12 twist a couple of years ago, but switched to an 11 twist, because I got a great deal on a 11 twist Criterion barrel. I bought thousands of 32 grn V max and 34 grn dogtown projos, which shoot great and blow things up nicely, so I've never tried any other projo. Any trigger time and...
