Not that it really matters, but the company that owns that site is a publicly traded company. It's just that an anti-gun media corporation owns a large percentage of that stock. When the company makes money, so does the anti-gun company.
Welcome to the site! You'll find tons of info here.
We just hit 750 members, so make sure to check out this thread for a chance to win a karma. Carry it around your family. Use it loud and proud and they'll know you like guns :D...
I've got no issue with local shelters that operate under the SPCA or HSUS umbrella.
Not all shelters are affiliated with those two groups though. Both my dogs came from a local shelter that isn't affiliated with either the SPCA or HSUS. I do have an issue with those organization as a whole...
It's something that we've considered. We need to figure out how many relevant posts there are and will be. I don't want to create any sub forums that won't get much traffic. Then the forum looks like it isn't getting much action. The other admins and I will talk about it in the next few days.
We considered it, but it's not something that is going to happen. It's got nothing to do with funding. A chat system would directly negatively impact the forum posts, and that's something that we do not want.
I don't think so, but I only played around with it for a minute. You can always do a custom search of this website on Google if you like that search engine better. It will search everything that has been indexed by Google. So, it won't come back with brand new things posted in the last minute or...
Yes, you can add tags to old threads. At the bottom of the page, right below the "similar threads" that show up is an option to add tags. It's right above the text "Share this Page."
I took a look at this. The search feature disregards extremely common words like all, I, my, the, as, an, etc. This is pretty common among search engines (google, bing, etc all do it).
So, when you do a search for all I gotta without the quotes, you're basically doing a search for 'gotta.'...
Not sure. I will take a look in the morning when I'm at a computer and not on my cell. I'm stoked the Rangers won and I'm going to bed. Remind me tomorrow afternoon if I don't reply in the morning.
Wow, I really screwed up my wording on that. lol
Should have said something like, "bayonets attached to the barrel of the gun, and the stock was long." Indeed, socket type bayonets (like on my old Potsdam Musket) were the most common at the time his firearm was made.
I took a closer look at the pictures today on a larger monitor. I'm still guessing what you have, but I'd bet what you have is a sporting shotgun. They are/were commonly called "fowlers."
It doesn't look like there any any military markings on the gun. In particular, military guns were...
I generally don't point people in the direction of other forums, but you'll probably get some better information if you post it here
The Ask the Pros & What's It Worth? Forum
They helped me with the old Potsdam musket I bought a while back.
I'm totally guessing here. You've probably got something from the 1820s-40s. By the second half of the 19th century, most long guns were rifled. There were tons of manufacturers of these guns. It's possible that this was originally flintlock and then converted to percussion cap. I'm not really...
I've never been pulled over while carrying. My current thought is that I will not inform the officer unless I think it will be discovered. If I'm asked to step out of the car for some reason, I will say something like, "Officer, I am licensed to carry a firearm and am doing so now. How would you...
She would have to apply in Monroe County, as that is where her residence is. If she's in city limits, she gets the application that gets sent to RPD. If she's outside city limits, she gets the application that goes to the sheriff.
Let me know if you have any questions about it.
I was wondering the same thing. Even if he enlisted at 17 and saw the tail end of the war in 1945, that would mean he was born in 1928. He'd be 89 now. The guy looks damn good for being that old.
I'm aware of the record keeping requirements. I'm just not sure on the legality of acquiring them. NY state law (business law said before) says all transfers of guns have to be done through a dealer, importer, or manufacturer, right? I don't see any exemptions for collectors.
I'm not...
I don't necessarily think it does. But, if someone ever tries to make an example of me, it's a lot easier to point my finger at a large gun dealer as part of my defense than not be able to point at anyone :D
I think it still is a private sale. NY law basically says, "all transfers have to be done by an importer, manufacturer or dealer. Refer to federal law for definitions." Federal law makes a pretty clear distinction between a dealer and a collector. "Collectors" aren't allowed to bypass the...
That's what I'm confused about. Why wouldn't it be considered a private sale according to the law? GBS § 898 talks about how all sales have to "be conducted in accordance with this section unless such sale, exchange or disposal is conducted by a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer or...
