Well I had to edit my post,

I looked up area the article states they were in and its along side of a river, and some really large highway interchanges. Definitely not an area they should of been plinking in.Sounds like they were NJ Knuckleheads in a really bad spot to be plinking. Not sure if they had NJ hand gun cards or not.

Police: 3 arrested with more than a dozen guns.

Hillburn borders on the NYS Thruway and RT 17 interchange on the NY/NJ state line. Definitely not the best place to plink.

More than a dozen firearms are off the streets of Rockland County this morning.

Lousy reporting. Guys from NJ bring guns from NJ to shoot in NY. So the firearms are "off the streets of Rockland County".
Yup some were found on the street in front of a church, a synagogue, a daycare center and a pediatricians office. Glad they are off the streets so they can't just be picked up by a passerby and used in a depraved manner.

Just thought about the term "stray bullet"....I mean are the bullets lost? Do they, on their own, decide on taking another path from the firearm? ....if deflection happens wouldn't that or ricochet be the correct term. Stray bullet suggest the bullet itself decides on which innocent victim it wants to kill. Fear term, that's all it is.
