If AR-15s are not protected, that's fine.
I'll save up money I would have spent on an AR-15 and ammo to buy a warship capable of decimating a costal city. After all, those were privately owned, even back when the 2nd was ratified, and so ARE protected under the 2nd.

And, seeing as how modern warships are capable of dropping a shell much further inland than the old 3-masted canon carriers, this could get sporty.

What is the political leanings of the en banc panel in the 7th? Will they reinstate the injunction or will this go to the S.C. to languish for years like all the other suits?
